This may not be the right place to post this, but I figure a lot of PSers look at their hands all day to admire their diamonds (or to imagine their future diamonds
emwink.gif
).

I am a twenty-five year old white woman (it''s true that white women age worse than others) and I have no wrinkles yet on my face, luckily. However, my hands are a piece of work! They look about ten years older than the rest of me, with wrinkles, fine lines, bunchy skin around my knuckles... I just don''t know why...I do cleaning/dishwashing around the house, but I don''t do manual labor or anything, I am a student.

I do put lotion on them daily, either Palmers Cocoa Butter or Neutrogena hand cream. I''m just wondering if there are certain creams or moisturizers out there that people *swear* by. Anyone else out there with this problem? TIA!

Look into Olay Body Age Transform Body Creme Serum or Paula Begoun's Skin Revealing Lotion with 10% AHA. Make sure you wear gloves when washing dishes or using chemicals. Do you get manicures? Maybe get a nice paraffin wax manicure & polish. Keeping my nails polished makes me feel better.

don''t forget to wear gloves when you do dishes. and sunblock lotion on the hands, too! sun + chemicals = skin damage

Plastic surgeons can spruce you up - they put a "peel" or topical acid on the hands to get rid of wrinkles, brown spots, etc.

I don''t think there is much down time and its probably cheaper than other proceedures.

I think topical OTC solutions are not enough (strong enough, right product).

Definitely stay out of the sun and puts sunscreen on your hands!

I don''t have a moral issue w/ plastic surgery personally - a disclaimer.

Thanks all...yeah, I was wondering if maybe my dermatologist could help with a peel or something...I will definintely ask now. And I have never put sunscreen on my hands (eek) I will start tomorrow!!

Sun damage caused those problems from the sound of it. The first thing to do is wear sunscreen on your hands. NMost people don''t realize UVA rays can come through glass, so if you drive a lot, you can cause you hands a lot of damage if you aren''t wearing a sunscreen that protects from bith types of rays. (UVB rays are the ones that give you color and which SPF numbers indicate).

John Hopkins found that skin creams with white tea help reduce the damage to skin caused by the sun. It''s expensive, but I had really good luck which origins white tea cream. It lasted forever, it was very mosterizing, it made my skin look good and it smells heavenly. That is what I would try with sunscreen.

What brand of white tea cream do you like, Brazen Irish?

She might have been recommending Origins - A Perfect World hydrating lotion with white tea (if she wasn''t, then I am

). I love the Origins products. Right now I''m using Ginger Souffle lotion... smells so good.

Kiehl''s Ultimate Strength Hand Salve
All Day care for severely dry, active hands.

I swear by this. Try applying them, especially just before bed.

One trick that I learned from a friend is to put whatever you use on your face on your hands.

So, when I use my glycollic acid wash on my face, I put a little on my hands. When I use my microdermabrasion scrub on my face 1-2 times/week, I use a little on my hands, too.

A couple of products that I really like for my hands are Solar Oil (for cuticles) and L''Occitane Hand Cream, both of which I use at least twice daily.

I love PB. My mother got me into her in my late teens.

I definitely don''t swear by it, since my hands are a wreck as well, but L''Occitane Hand Cream/ shea butter is not bad. To me it doesn''t feel as sticky as other creams and absorbs pretty quickly.

I''ve also started to try Bio-oil. Again, can''t swear by it, but we''ll see.
