There have been so many threads on here regarding the ultrasonic cleaners, and I have read them all !! (and they are long!) I remember somone saying that they lost a stone in their cleaner, and as much as that stinks, I would rather it happen in there than while I''m out!

Anyway... I have decided I really want some sorty of jewlery cleaner, and now I''m torn. I did a search on Amazon and came up with the Jewel Jet Steamer. I know steam is what the jewelers use, so is this the best option?

The things I want to clean the most are my diamond studs and my tennis bracelet, and hopefully my ERing soon!! LOL... But seriously (I designed it so I know what it is) the whole ring is pave, all three sides and on the bottom. So I am concearned about the ultrasonic...

Does anyone have this thing?? Any thoughts? reccomendations??

hahaha I just asked the exact same question in my thread about the weird rash I got from my eternity band. So I''m so glad you started a whole thread devoted to this!

Will be checking back...

I''m really interested to hear opinions espicially on pave rings. I am just so worried about how delicate they can be...

Hopefully someone can shed more light on this particular concern...

I don''t trust ultrasonic cleaners and I would never use one for pave''. When I got my Royal Asscher, the store gave me a complimentary ultrasonic cleaner and I still haven''t used it.

We use a heated ultrasonic on jewelry all the time in our office and rarely have any stone loss problem. Once in a great while a diamond may fall out, but it is right there for us to get it reset. I realize for a consumer, this would be a hassle, but it is not a frequent event.

In the reapair shop my partner operates, they use both steam and ultrasonic. The steamer does blow loose stones out and sometimes they really can''t be found. The JewelJet is a nice consumer unit which won''t blow so strongly and would not do that to most diamonds. It would have to be a diamond ready to comeout anyway for the JewelJet to harm it.

We''ve sold over a hundred steams and sparkl spa ultrasonics since we had a shopping cart created a few years ago. Noone has ever called with a problem of stone loss. Sometimes dirt is all that is holding a diamond in place, but clean diamonds are the prettiest ones. Its worth the risk to keep them clean. My wife uses a small ultrasonic weekly on her big rock and she never has had a problem......or I would have heard about it.

I have both an ultrasonic and steam cleaner for my e-ring and w-band ( no pave). Works very well, but I use leftover solution in the ultrasonic (no, it''s not even cloudy), and soak any pave rings in it for just a couple of minutes. Works like a charm! I haven''t tried steaming anything with pave, though.

Thanks to all who replied!

I am glad your responded David, an experts opinion is always appreciated. I feel that everyone has their own methods for cleaning their own jewelry. I have decided though that the Jewel Jet will probably be best for my future Pave. I will probably end up buying an US in the end also for the easy stuff like my tennis bracelet and earrings... Hopefully I''ll be lucky enough not to lose any stones but if I do you can de sure I''ll be looking high and lo for it!! LOL
