I was wondering how long does it take for new diamonds to come into the market?

I was really settled on buying a diamond I posted earlier but it has been bought by someone other than me.

Are there always good diamonds to be found out there?

Post your requirements and we can see what the prosumers can find for you. shape, size, color range, clarity, cut quality and budget.

Per the rules I'm not allowed to recommend stones but I will check in and see if any technical help is needed.

Sorry that happened. If you find another stone you’re seriously considering buying, definitely put it on hold right away.

Unfortunately, it could’ve been a coincidence, but there are also lurkers on the forum that will let you do all of the hard work and will swoop in and buy stones out from under you

Most diamonds drop ship and the master list only gets updates every so often, so it can happen that the diamond you think you are buying is already sold and the list hadn’t updated yet. So when your vendor goes to reserve it, that is when everyone finds out it’s gone. (Basically, and as I understand it).

We can most likely find you a good one in your price range.

Thank you. I should be really careful about posting too much of the diamond details. I really hope someone just didn't swoop in from this forum, that'd hurt :( Will definitely keep the details more minimal next time.

At one point I even had it reserved in my basket. I removed it from my basket yesterday and tried to reserve it again. It got sold before I could reserve it a second time

Well cut high color high clarity stones are harder to find, most are cut for weight retention rather than high cut quality.

Since you're looking for a top-of-the-line diamond, I recommend going with one of the super ideal cut vendors so that you get the best cut possible. The cut quality is what will determine how much the diamond will sparkle.

Whiteflash also has among the best upgrade policies in the business.

You may find it more enjoyable to deal with vendors who own their inventory, rather than listing thousands of diamonds they do not control. If one of them has what you want, super. Buy it, knowing you can return it if not pleased.

If no one has the needle in the haystack you are looking for, you can also work with one of the quality vendors who will cut to order for you. The vendor will look for a starting crystal, inform you of the expected finished weight and only when you have agreed to the expected finished weight and pricing will they ask for a deposit and purchase the crystal on your behalf.

It takes a little longer, but you have the joy of starting with a crystal, knowing it will be cut to top standards and the lifelong memories of having the incredible gem crafted for you.

Since you are in Australia, you may want to consult with Holloway Diamonds... @Garry H (Cut Nut) will find you the best of the best: he invented the Ideal-Scope and ASET scope!
He has also blessed us with his decades of cut analysis which led to the amazing proportions chart on this page:
