Hey friends,

Thanks for you guys' posts I have learnt a ton about Sapphire!

I'm hear some recommendations for blue sapphire dealers in central Florida near Orlando area, if you have info please kindly let me know that will be much appreciated!

Looking for either unheated loose stone or rings. (Cornflower, Sri Lanka/Ceylon/Burma) My wife and I hope to see the stone in person, preferably in a store.

Many thanks!

Most jewellery stores don’t carry “loose gems”, they will either have a selection of rings to view in store or will have the ability to “call in” gemstones from their suppliers. They may require a deposit from you or even ask you to pay upfront. This means it’s not like a store goes off and orders in a dozen gems for you to look at, there are shipping and insurance costs involved in “bringing gems in”. Also, sometimes gems thought to be available arent, there’s an order in progress “out there” and it’s not showing on the system. You will also be limited by whatever vendors / suppliers that particular jeweller uses.
What many do is use the internet to assess the many venders of gemstones and after locating a gemstone that meets their requirements and dealing with the vendor directly, buy it and have it sent to you. Most vendors have a 10 day return window if you don’t like it in person. Obviously you are responsible for the shipping and insurance costs so again it’s not like you can order 5 in to consider (unless you have the funds to pay upfront for 5). If it doesn’t suit, you send it back and the vendor refunds you.

Did a quick search and I just see chain-type stores with commercial diamond jewelry.

I also looked for the "oldest" jeweler in Orlando and I found one that dates back to creaky old 1987.

I did not come across any that I would use to source a fine sapphire.

I always look up the best new and estate jewelers in a city before I visit. I can usually find something. You may need to broaden your search.

Thanks a lot guys!
I went to local Orlando jewelers all have no clue what GIA/SSEF/Gubelin certificate means...

Orlando definitely not the town for exquisite blue sapphires...

You will need to look online. You won't have luck finding something like this at local stores.
