Hi there! I want to purchase a 3+ carat unheated natural yellow sapphire with superior clarity. I've looked at a number of the websites listed in your list of vendors but no luck so far. Please let me know if you have any ideas/leads on purchasing this stone.

Many thanks!!

There are at least 3 unheated yellow sapphires with excellent clarity listed at GemFix - did none of them interest you? http://www.gemfix.com/sapphire_yellow_orange.html

I love some of the ones on GemFix's page - I would definitely comb through them and look at the hand pics - beautiful colors and reasonable prices, especially for unheated stones.

Hi! yes, I looked at the stones on gemfix and really liked the cut and clarity. My concern was the color. They all seem very light, and I'd like to see a healthy splash of yellow. Maybe the pics are misleading?? I'll call them on monday either way.

Oh I've been in love with this one from gemfix for a while. 3ct plus and says untreated.

I like the lighter shades that they have because there are some that lack a green tone, but if you want a stronger yellow & color is your number 1 priority, you may want to consider expanding your search to heated stones (not diffused, just heated) as well. I'm not suggesting that finding a strong yellow unheated is impossible, but casting a wider net may provide you with some more flexibility and more options as well.

It isn't going to be easy looking for a 3 carat unheated yellow sapphire of strong saturation, especially without any green. Almost all the bright sunny yellows are either heated or diffused (heated with added elements).

Chrono is far more articulate about these things than I am :-)

Perhaps you would like to post examples of the color you seek? I say this because the sunny yellows and golden yellows are the most likely candidates to have been diffused. Let us know what you have in mind?

That yellow sapphire is awesome!
