i''m trying to help FI out a bit..his groomsmen are mostly married (with kids) and been in many many weddings, so they have all the usualy GM gifts and trinkets.
does anyone know of any sites or ideas for gifts that aren''t the typical ones we see over and over on every website? thanks! our price range is $50-75 each..

1)We purchased digital photo frames for our 2 gm''s and FI''s dad.
FI searched on amazon, and we ended up paying a bit more than your budget (i think the ones we got were around $100).
However, I know there are digital photo frames out there for less, especially on amazon, or even watch your local ads.

I think they''re great for at work or home, they can put kids photos, wedding photos, etc. on them.

2)For my brother who is a huge golfer I found on amazon a "swiss army" golfers tool that came with 3 big bertha golf balls. It was around $35 and comes in a gift box. The reviews were great, and it''s very high quality (made by the victronox (sp?) that does the regular swiss army knives.

3) if any of your gms are into the grill, for about $50 or $60 you can get them customized steak branders with their initials or whatever. They are a hoot! Search on google, we found a site where they came in a cedar gift box with their initials and even wrapped in a red bandana. We''re giving that to my brother who is King of the Grill and is walking me down the aisle. We''re pairing it with a local barbecue sauce.

4) For my nephew that is turning 21 on the day of our RD we purchased a customized capcatcher on www.capcatchers.com It was under $40 and is really great. I got that idea from the knot. You can get anything printed on them you want, they also sell tubs, etc. and people have given those with a 6 pack of their favorite beverage, etc.

hope that helps.

For our wedding, DH got the groomsmen monogrammed golf shirts from our local country club (where they all played the wedding weekend).... along with personalized pub signs. I wasn''t sure about the pub signs at first, but they actually turned out really cute and people seemed to like them!! A lot of the guys have "man rooms" or areas in their basements with a bar, pool table, etc... so they plan to hang them there.

We bought our groomsmen fishing reels (they all fish)

what about tickets to a sporting event?
a good tool of some sort (hubby says that every guy needs a really good quality hammer--hehe)

My friend is getting married the first weekend in Oct, and most of the guys in the wedding are coffee drinkers, so they ordered really nice stainless thermoses with their names engraved on them and their role (i.e. best man) and the date.

This might be a more ''typical'' gift, but my fiance got his groomsmen very nice (Riedel brand) official scotch glasses with their initials on them. And he''s going to get them each a nice bottle of scotch as well. It helps that they all like scotch! We ordered them from here: http://www.crystalizeonline.com/rienscglse2.html
and they came SUPER fast. I swear it was 2-3 days, including engraving.

We also considered getting personalized leathermans from here: http://www.gunthergifts.com/leatmul.html

The only gift we have left to actually buy is for the officiant (who is FI''s uncle). The current plan is to get him an old record off ebay and have it framed because he likes music and has a special music room in his house...

Oh, and thanks Labbie for that info on the amazon golf thing! We ordered two yesterday - one for each father!

Glad to hear it,
It was the perfect gift for my brother, now we''re just worried about him being able to get it home on the plane, but we may just ship it to him.

We''re dealing with the same thing!! Between the liquids and all the sharp objects....lots to cause problems!

For anyone else dealing with liquids, we were at a wedding in another state where we got a bottle of wine and didn''t know how we''d get it back. Fortunately, we had bought and finished a bottle of scotch there that came in a tall tin. We put the wine in that, packed it in the checked suitcase, and no problems. So now when we buy scotch for the groomsmen, we''re looking for that kind again! But I think strong, good tins are a good plan for any type of liquid.
