I made a bit of an impulse buy on this, but the price seemed to good to not take a look in person, and the the site is 1stDibs, so I know my cash is safe and that this is a reputable seller.

This is a 2.59 carat blue Burma sapphire complete with AGL report from late 2017. It's by Yard Inc, which is Raymond Yard's legacy company - albeit this is from the nineties.

I've pasted the AGL report and some photos below. The photos are difficult to tell, but any thoughts on this up front?

The ring was 7,000. Looking at Gemeprice this seems like a bargain, and looking at other comparable stones on the web it seems like a great price too.

Am I missing something here???

This is basically the style of ring I adore, and in Platinum. Everything seems to check out.

It's a shallow stone with low crown so it probably won't be a lively stone. It should make up for it with that soft velvety colour.

Pretty color, but from the photos, It does seem to have visible inclusions.

This was my main concern too. The return policy is super generous on 1stdibs. They give you a week from arrival and pay for return shipping.

I think I need to get it in my hands and see how it feels, and get it under the loupe and some real light to get a better idea of how bad those inclusions are! I am not yet convinced that some of those aren't just from the camera equipment - doing macro jewelry photos myself those are pretty common. But all will be revealed in person!

Yeah color is very good for sure. I think this one might tell a lot better of a story in person. But if not, I'll send back.

This is a really high end jeweler, so I am hoping that it has some real character in person.

Looks fabulous but you’ll have to see if the lovely colour is apparent in ordinary circumstances.
often times the “studio“ photos show the gem at its very best but in real life, in natural light and in ordinary inside lighting what you see isn’t the same.

My kinda ring!

I hope you low-balled on 1st Dibs -- it's set up for that.

My one 1st Dibs experience years ago was a bust -- a blue the color of yours. But not that color in person :confused2:

I think 1st Dibs is like eBay for the rich. Geared toward making that sale and then fingers-crossed that it doesn't come back. And it seems like everybody has a six-figure ring for street cred so jerks like me can buy the cheap stuff with (false) confidence.
