I''m not into "traditional weddings" so, since my FI and I are Star Trek fans (NOT freaks though) we decided to get married on the bridge of the Enterprise in Las Vegas! The only guests will be his brother and FI, my sister, and two friends! It''s gonna be really fun. I''ll be wearing a tea-length lace dress with a black sash and FI will be wearing a tux...No costumes...I do have limits people. The girls will be wearing black dresses with white sashes, and the other guys will be wearing tuxes! (I want nice pictures) We will be eating our reception dinner at Quark''s Bar inside the attraction and then be having cake and champagne in a party room. We will be out there for a week, come home and then get started on planning a family reception for everybody that didn''t go to the wedding. We will be showing the video of our wedding at that reception.
Oh! For our guests that will be attending the wedding, we will be giving Moon Acerage to them. Yes, they will own a piece of the moon! How cool is that?1?

I know some people will not agree on our wedding plans, but it just fits us perfectly!

I think it''s great that you found a way to customize your wedding to your interests. I think the moon wedding favors are so cool. I''m sure your guests will never attend anything like it again ever.

Don't forget to post pics

I think your wedding sounds great, and very personal to you and your husband-to-be. I''ve seen a couple "Star Trek" weddings a few years ago on the TLC channel, and I think they''re fun!!! It takes a lot of guts and a certain personality to be strong enough to go against the grain of the traditional wedding, so I give you props for that! I think the reception back home for people who didn''t get to attend your wedding will be wonderful, and the video/DVD from the actual wedding will be a nice touch. Good luck with your planning and congrats on your upcoming wedding!

Don''t let my FI read this though, he''d start planning a Star Wars wedding complete with lightsabers.

OMG, how many guys would be so involved in the planning if they could have a Star Wars themed wedding!?!? HA!

PearPear--sounds like fun! And small and simple!

that sounds like fun!!! the husband of one of my best friends was a huge star wars fan, so on the wedding cake the figures were of anakin and scarlett from gone w/the wind.. (her fav movie character) !!

I bet you can so something similar...

I have a buddy who's a huge Star Wars fan also. He has all the figurines and toys and EVERYTHING. His girlfriend is one of my bridesmaids and she's so in love with him that she'd marry him in a heartbeat. They've been together 2 years. Anyway, he mentioned a Star Wars wedding once and she told me "don't tell him, but I would TOTALLY have a Star Wars wedding with him, costumes and all. I love him THAT MUCH." So who knows, maybe it'll happen. I'll definitely let you know if it does!

Now Star Trek... If I had a fiance as sexy as Captain Picard (even Number One aka Commander Riker is cute), I'd totally do it! But I think I would want to look like Counselor Troy. My fiance has that little boy cuteness so he wouldn't fit the profile very well.

Wow- first time posting where the future brides are

!!!!!!

Ours will be unsual since we are still aiming to have it on Halloween. But not a full costume event, some of my conservative relatives would flip out.

OK, that's totally wacked out...I LOVE IT! :)

That is sooo cool! I would have totally gone with an idea like that but no one else wanted to. I liked the option at Treasure Island where you get married on the boat and a pirate swings down on a rope, with the rings :)

Hope you have a fantastic time!

Hey, I''m getting married in LV at the Valley of Fire, which is apparently in one of the Star Trek movies (according to my FI).... it''s about 45 minutes from LV... so you all should definitely check it out while you''re there. You could get some great pics!
