I''m the only female child on my mother''s side of the family. And for some reason this means I recieve a lot of jewelry gifts. Which is lovely. But well... it also means I get a lot of unwanted jewelry. And I''m persian, which means that when I get married... I will be getting gifts of jewelry. Most of it will probably not be to my taste. If it has gemstones and such, I know they can be reset... but frankly I mainly have lots of yellow gold (usually 18K or higher)... that well, I just don''t wear and won''t wear if I get more of it-- which I probably will.

Seriously... what should I do with it?

I''d keep it! Isn''t yellow gold coming back into vogue? It''s just a great accent with so many colors. I especially love earth tones with gold.

I would save the jewelry in a safe deposit box and then pass the everything onto your children or grandchildren. Or consider that not everyone can afford luxuries of life so another thought would be finding friends/relatives of friends who would adore such pieces and give items out as gifts.

is there any way you could hint to a loud mouth auntie that you prefer platinum? so that word gets out?
