Upcoming events...*sigh*

[Hoping&Waiting]

Well....

August 08 is almost 7 months away...that is the discussed deadline for an engagement But it is SOOO HARD because the engagement could really come at any moment! This weekend we are traveling to his parents home which is also the same lake as my cabin. My parents will be at the cabin so we have organized a dinner with both sets of parents and his family at his parents home.....so of course, me being the LIW that I am...I pray that it may be the perfect opportunity! I really want our parents to be apart of our engagement whether they are there just after the proposal or during the proposal.

Also....valentines day is coming up. And I have ALWAYS been very clear that this is my FAVORITE COUPLE HOLIDAY! I absolutely love vday! After our first vday together he has always known that I like to surprise him and he likes to surprise me! but this year he is being very non-chalant (sp?) about it...not wanting to spend a lot of money on dinner out etc. so instead we are doing a picinic in...which will be fun. But a little disappointing....

Finally we are giong on a family ski trip out west in the middle of february....moutains, and picturesque back drop....wouldnt it be ideal?


UGGG....FOr some reason I just have a feeling I am getting my hopes up ALREADY for all of these events and NONE of them will be the right time. and my wait...will continue!!!!!!

I would casually drop a hint that it would be really romantic and that you would love to have your family there for that event...or at least close by...

I agree with Alexis...better make sure to drop a little hint that you want family present at your proposal. It's definately better to be safe than sorry!

As an aside: I hate playing the "maybe" game but perhaps your SO wants to downplay the expenses associated with Valentine's Day because he is saving for a ring...

My SO also suggested we forego any Valentine's Day gifts. At first I was very upset but then I realized it really doesn't matter in the long run. I already ordered his whoopie pies that he loves so I'll just give him those and spend the rest of the money I had set aside on something spiffy for myself

This sounds to me like maybe your SO is saving for a ring or has begun the purchasing process. Guys will sometimes do this and act very "cheap" right before a proposal because they are putting all their cash flow into bling.

Agreeing with the other girls too on the family thing. Don''t expect that he will know you want the folks there. You need to tell him this.

1. He definitely knows that I want family around...He has even clarified a couple times exactly who!
2. He also said, "I want to have a low key vday to save for that special ring!"
