Hello LIW''s!

As many of you know, FI and I are...well...technically engaged. Not only has he gotten my father''s blessing but we''ve booked our venue and are moving ahead full steam with planning.

My ring, however, is still in limbo. Partly because I completely changed my entire idea of what I wanted after a fabulous trip with a few fellow PSers in Boston and partly because I do not want him to go into any debt for this ring. No debt. Period. So, it''s taking a bit of time. I''ve had patience for a very long time now, I can continue to wait for the ring.

I''ve kept myself on the list because some people feel that our engagement isn''t official until I have my ring. So, I''d like to continue to stay on the list until I get my ring if you''ll all have me

I''ll be sad if we don''t get an official proposal-with-ring pics story in here!

They''re my favorite posts!

Sounds exciteing! I agree with you about the whole ''not going into any type of debt'' thing. That was EXACTLY how I felt about it. I didn''t want to have a dollar hanging over my SO''s head because of the ring. He decided what he wanted to spend and I took $1,000.00 off that limit (yes I made the price limit smaller by choice!!) and that''s how we got the limit. I do know an e-ring is something very important and lovely but there''s alot I want to do around my house and to me that takes first priority! Anyways, so then we waited a small amount of time so he could save the money and once he told me it was a go I had changed my mind so many times he ended up having triple the amount of the ring saved! lol (maybe I should have took that extra $1,000.00) hehehe. The point I''m trying to make is that I think your truely doing the sensible thing, it may not be the right road for everyone, but I know for us it definatly was. Now I don''t feel like his savings account took that big of a hit and that puts me at ease!

After all.... I want my new kitchen!!! lol.

This is gonna be a VERY exciteing time, I can''t wait to see your ring!!

Hey! That is fab!!!!!

I would get off the list because YOU ARE ENGAGED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Wow, how lucky are you? So many are waiting and you're not only engaged, you've got your planning down to a tee! Wish I were that good and together with planning!

And then you must hang out here and update us when you do get the ring and we'll have a SECOND engagement party for you! But it might help to be off the list because then you can say AHHHHHHH and not feel subconsciously that you're still waiting and not "official." You are official! All you're waiting for is the ring and that is deee-lish! What a nice thing to anticipate!

If you're planning the wedding, you're official, girlie! Who cares what others think, ring or not? LOL. It's just metal and carbon. What you have, the union and promise, are bigger than that! Woohoo!!!!

ETA: Oopsie! Just saw that you want to stay on the list! LOL. Congrats either way!!!

You should be really proud of your decision. Debt is an easy thing to get into and a hard thing to get out of. I think a lot of girls push for giant rings there BF''s cant afford, but because of love the girl, bite the bullet and they are years and years and years paying it off.

You''ve got the best of both worlds, lady!! You can be on the LIW list AND the BWW list!! And I think I speak for all of us PSers when I say we love you on both lists.

KTF, it is so incredibly exciting that all this is happening--and I personally love the *way* it is happening too! I don''t know if you ever do this, but most years when my birthday rolls around, it ends up being a week or more of celebrating, because there will be a party one day and a dinner out another day, and a family get together another day, and a romantic meal out with J another day--so it''s like a birthday week, instead of just one day. That''s how it sounds like your engagement is starting, which is the best possible thing!! The more things to celebrate, the better, I always say.

Enjoy your engagement time pre-ring, and look forward to sharing the receiving of the ring portion with us later! I can''t wait!

You are NOT going to cheat us out of a story and pics when the ring time comes!!!! No, no, no!

Hang around here sweetie, and also in BWW. I am a newbie to BWW but I still hang here while I am ''settling'' in. I just can''t not hang around here? I would miss everyone!

It doesn''t have to be one or the other. Hang out wherever you like, add yourself to every list on the board!

I personally think you''re engaged ring or not. Ultimately you don''t need a ring to get engaged or married.

I just wanted to chime in to say congrats on booking the venue!!! That''s fantastic!

It''s smart to wait until he can pay for the ring without a dime of debt and you and he both know that the ring is just a formality, anyway. An engagement is a decision, not an act. We can''t WAIT to see the ring and it will most certainly be worth the wait!! In the meantime, I don''t see why you''d need to get off the list, you know he still wants to plan a proposal, even if it is just a formality.

PS: I think I''ve mentioned this before, but the stone in your avatar is absolutely divine! Makes me drool every time I see it.
