-He updated the timeline to 6-12 months
-He happens to know someone who knows someone in the diamond industry and tells me he''s got that all under control
-Says it''s at least 6 months from now but upon me questioning, refuses to tell me if it''ll happen in 2008 or not

Last I knew, there were only 3 more months left in 2008 so unless he''s throwing me off, it can''t be in 2008!
-He told me 2 weeks ago that only 2 people know of his plan (his bro and a co-worker/friend of ours) but just told me Tuesday night that he told someone else. *W/out me asking either, he completely volunteered the info. Odd.

And why is he all of a sudden telling people if it''s so far off!?
-Said something to the effect of he''s not sure he''ll be there at the exact moment of the proposal. HUH?!?! I thought the one proposing HAD to be there?!?! lol. I don''t get it!

-So all in all, I think he''s really gotten on board w/ the whole getting engaged. Haha. I finally see that he is excited and I think he''s having a little too much fun with torturing me! lol.

I''m sure there are other things that he''s said that I can''t remember at the moment, but yay, I''m excited/happy that it''s coming "soon."

I''m with you though...How can you not be there at the exact moment of the proposal?!?! I''m going to be thinking of creative ways to propose without being there in person ALL DAY!!! Sounds like it''s going to be a good story!!

I definitely do think it''s going to be a very interesting proposal! Ever since he told me that he wasn''t sure if he''d be there, all of these different proposal scenarios keep going through my mind! I have no idea! haha.

Everytime I question him, he tells me to relax and that I''ll be more than happy with how it will all turn out. I am sure I will be but gosh, the wait is killing me!!

Hey, maybe just give him a head''s up to do his research CAREFULLY because around here "I know someone in the diamond industry" tend to be famous last words. We see it allllll the time. "But my brother on law said I could trust this guy!" or "He knocked 20% off the price!" (yeah, but he marked it UP first... or it''s junk).

It is very, VERY easy to get ripped off by people who are supposedly giving you a ''deal'', particularly because internet prices for diamonds have very, very tiny profit margins. So if he is getting a "deal" he is probably getting ripped off. No one is going to take a loss on a stone for a friend of a friend. Or worse, an acquaintance of a friend.

Please tell your guy to do his research.

Independent Gal, thanks for the advice!

I have told him that before he does anything concerning my ring that he is to come to me or this site (he knows all about it) and get educated!

I don''t think he''s actually going to use this person, it was just an idea of his, because he knows how important it is to me to have quality and not necessary quantity (size, etc).

But I do appreciate and thank you very much for your concern!

haha that cracks me up.. hey maybe he''s planning something elaborate.. like he''s gonna fly a plane over your house with a big banner that reads "WILL YOU MARRY ME??"

but hey.. at least you''ve got a definite time-line - you know he''s planning SOMETHING!! YAY!
