What type of vendor is this? I had to send in my original diamond first before they send me the new ring with BN so I would say it’s normal? Do you have a diamond picked out already? Will they let you exchange if you don’t end up liking the new one??
Adiamor. I found one I like on paper. ASET not available and I'm concerned with the color. I currently have an I and the one I found is an I. I don't see yellow in my current stone, but all I's are not the same. I'm not sure I can say good bye to my current stone without knowing what I'm going to get.
You should be able to get info on the stone without sending in your current stone just like any new buyer should be able to get info
on a stone.
Are you saying that they wont provide you with images without you sending in your current stone?
Edit...I guess I dont understand what you mean by "seeing". Do you mean seeing it in person or seeing pictures of it? No one is going
to send you a new stone without you paying for it first or maybe having a credit card on file with them that they can charge if you dont
send a stone back. Can you clarify your issue so we can better understand?
I upgraded with Adiamor and had the same experience. A way around it if you can swing it is to just purchase the diamond outright at first so you can utilize their return policy if you it doesn't meet your expectations after comparing it with your original diamond. If it does, then contact Adiamor and let them know you want to keep the diamond, but are upgrading. They may require you to send both your original ring and the new diamond back while the upgrade is "approved" (they need to inspect your original diamond, etc.). GL
@Kaycee2018 Is that your Adiamor ring in your avatar? Beautiful. I have the 6 prong perfect solitaire setting . Did you get your band from Adiamor? I'm looking for one low enough to not rub the prongs.
The e-ring in my avatar is my 2.73ct upgrade (I upgraded from 1.85ct). They were able to provide an ASET for my upgrade, which made me much more comfortable with the process, but it was probably from a different supplier than the diamond you are considering. My setting is also the perfect solitaire setting with the diamond set as low as possible and customized to 1.8mm wide. I also requested dainty prongs. The thinner diamond band is the 1/2ctw Riviera band from Blue Nile (in platinum since their gold options come with lower quality diamonds), which sits super low and does not rub the prongs of my e-ring. The thicker band is a 7 stone .84ctw custom shared prong band from ID Jewelry. It rubs the prongs of my e-ring, so I usually wear a spacer with it. Good luck with your upgrade!
My ring is actually one of the 17 in Adiamor's gallery for the Perfect Solitaire Setting (labeled as "Shown with 2.73 Round G VS")
The Perfect Solitaire Engagement Ring Setting | Adiamor
The Perfect Solitaire is classic and elegant. Made for a specifically for a round brilliant cut center stone, The band is slightly knife edged and the basket is perfectly scalloped. This ring will take her breath away.www.adiamor.com
I would be upgrading from a 1.47 to a 2.4. The person I spoke with made it sound like they would use my existing ring. Do they put a new head on? Did they re use your existing ring?

Last question...is this what you did? Any issues?
Since they were able to provide advanced images (ASET, Hearts & Arrows, photos and videos), I just sent my diamond back for the upgrade. This was pre-COVID so getting images, photos, etc. was much easier. My original diamond was listed on their site within a week of me sending it in, so if I had any issues with the upgraded stone I'm sure they would have accepted a return and sent my original diamond back to me.
Do you have pics or videos? Picking by numbers alone is a dangerous game.
The 55 table looks more promising to me. It does appear to be slightly more tinted than your current stone in the profile picture, but the lighting is also different. And you are going up a carat in size, so tint is usually going to be more obvious in the larger stone. If these are your only two opt right now and you aren’t thrilled with either of them, I’d hold off to see what becomes available in the next couple months after stocks are replenished from the holiday rush.

Wow! Your setting looks really nice without the modifications! Here's a profile shot I actually just posted in another thread comparing color (my e-ring G vs smaller I). There doesn't appear to be too much difference in the height. Are you happy with it?@Kaycee2018 do you have a profile pic of your ring. You mentioned you had yours set as low as possible. I didn't make any modifications. Now that I have the ring I feel like it sits very high. Maybe it's just getting used to the larger size.
I love it. I was very worried it would be yellow, but I think it looks great for an I. I'm giddy over the size difference. My eyes almost popped out of my head when I opened the box. My studs are each 2 carats so I thought I knew what it would look like. That extra .4 carats really makes a difference. Did you have them add a donut to yours? I am concerned about what type of band I can wear with this.
Congrats! Glad you are loving it. I was going to mention that it looks quite white for an I. I'd love to see a SMTB post with more pics! I think the donut is more prominent in my setting because I had them thin out the shank. If you are worried about rubbing on the prongs, you will probably need a very low set band or a thin stacker.
