Upgrade ring! Princess cut 1.79 ct ACA

A couple months ago, I asked for help evaluating a couple diamonds I was looking at on James Allen. I'd looked on Whiteflash previously, but their princess cut selection over 1.5 carats is pretty skimpy, and I wanted a setting from James Allen, so I thought it would be easiest to get a diamond from them, as well. Due to encouragement from several of you, I decided to check Whiteflash out again, and I picked something just a little smaller than I was aiming for (and actually came in a little under budget). Liza at Whiteflash was incredibly helpful, and the price of the stone I picked was even comparable to similar stones on James Allen. It's gorgeous and sparkly and icy white. Thanks so much to those of you who took the time to weigh in!

And here it is! 1.79 ct E color SI1 eye clean princess cut ACA diamond in James Allen tapered baguette setting. The ring isn't super clean in these photos, but you get the idea. Ring size 3.5.

Wow - this is beautiful!! I haven't seen a princess cut with baguettes before, and I think it looks great! It's also a perfect size on your finger! I have a question. I thought James Allen would not sell the settings by themselves. I thought you had to buy a stone to get the setting, is that not the case?

Beautiful! What a great stone, and a lovely setting. Its a shame that there are so few princess cuts being showcased on PS because they are still a popular choice.

James Allen does sell settings alone. Some are able to be shipped directly to you so you can take it to the jeweler of your choice to have your stone set, but the one I picked had to be cast, so I sent them my diamond and they set it for a $100 fee (plus $30 insured shipping charge for me to ship the diamond to them). I got an insurance policy from Jeweler's Mutual before I sent the stone just in case something happened to it while being set (James Allen's insurance wouldn't cover it in such a case because it wasn't "their" stone).
