Upgraded RHR

Here is my upgraded RHR with my heart diamond.Yes, I know heart shaped diamonds are not very popular with many of you but I am a sucker for hearts.

Stats are limited since this is from a national jewelers so all I know is my heart diamond is ½ ct near colorless (I guess it is h/I, Si).The ring has two .18 PC sapphires and four .04 PC diamonds so the entire ring is 1 ct.

The story behind this heart diamond began in the spring of 2006.I had a teaching check burning a hole in my pocket and I noticed a heart diamond solitaire at the mall.They gave me a great deal on it and I had them swap the mounting out for a YG cathedral setting to wear as a RHR.
My original ering had a .15 ct diamond with diamond accents so now my ½ ct. diamond RHR started giving me a bad case of diamond shrinkage.I asked DH if he would mind if I used the heart diamond ring as my ering and he said no problem.
I bought a solid gold wring to wear with it then traded that in for a ½ ct anniversary band a few weeks later.I wore them for about 6 weeks but just wasn’t happy with the quality of the diamond so that is when we went to my favorite store and bought my ideal cut RB that is now in my ering.
I returned the anniversary band and decided to have the diamond remounted in WG solitaire setting to wear it as a RHR.After awhile I bought an enhancer to wear with it.The enhancer started driving me crazy because the 2 rings kept coming apart all the time so I decided to start looking for a sapphire ering for the heart diamond.
I wanted to stick with the store or parent store I bought the rings from so I could trade in the enhancer.I went to the local store’s remount sale but they had horrible sapphires and no erings with sapphires in them.I asked them to order in 2 different sizes of sapphires so I could see what size sapphires I would like with the diamond for a 3 stone ring.They got in one sapphire that was poor quality.Yesterday we were out of town shopping so I went to their parent store that has loose stones and sapphire semi-mounts.I really liked this ring so asked them to put a ½ ct heart diamond in it and I loved it. As you can tell I bought it.
Hopefully this will be the last mounting I have for this diamond.Tee hee!

Very pretty!!! Definately the best setting of the 3! The first yg setting in the pics reminds me of the "ering" that I really wanted when I was like, 17. I just fell in love with the little heart diamond. Funny how tastes evolve over time. I still do have a soft spot for the hearts though.

Geckodani, I often have buyer’s remorse – worrying about spending too much money or buying something I only sort of like or I start to find flaws with it.Well, that wasn’t happening today.I still really like the ring.I think the third time is the charm.

Joflier, I saw a small diamond heart ring about 10 years ago and thought it was so cute and I think I never got it out of my head.It is amazing how tastes can change even in a few short years.

Beechezz, yes I like this setting the best.I think I’ll be content with it now.
