I have been searching for a diamond. Can you experts tell me if this a good diamond to purchase? Sorry, I am a newbie on these gem stuff. :). My main focus is to have excellent cut and excellent proportions that will maximize its spread.

In addition, is there a huge different between 1.8 and 2.0 carat?

If you don’t like the specs for this one, is there another one you would recommend?

Looking for something that is 2 carat or something that’s closer to 2. H and above, VS1 and above, triple excellent cut. And how important is fluorescence that comes with the above specs?

I’m looking to purchase a diamond in a day or two.

Thanks for your help!

What is your budget?

Plenty of Super Ideal options in your budget...Ideal light return, H&As branded stones. I really like the 1.85. Gets you
close to 8mm. You can ask for side-by-side pictures from WF and ask the SA to give you their opinion on the 3 stones.

unfortunately, it has to be bluenile because it’s an upgrade! :-)

Good info to know!

I'll have a look...

Edit...you can use the below link to see the difference in diamond sizes

Fluorescence - You usually only have to worry about Strong or Very Strong then you need to make sure its not hazy...Its pretty
rare but we do find one on occasion.

I'm having problems with BlueNile right now...

To be honest I'm not really finding anything at BN that looks perfect so I hate to post. Most look like they have leakage or
just have a wonky cut. I even opened the table size to 59%. Could look for a 60/60 stone. Didnt try that.

Do you have a picture of the one you posted above (or a link). It has a low crown/low pavilion so was looking for something better.

This is from pricescope for its hca IMG_7983.png

Are you OK with a well cut and proportioned H color?
(put this one on hold/reserve ASAP while you give it some thought)

Oh yeah I did check this out but when I looked at the GIA it says “Clouds are not shown”. I think thats a concern right hence price is low for 2.03?

Looks nice!

At VVS2 clouds would hardly be an issue.

It didn't show up for me because I kept the depth max at 62.3%.

@tyty333 which one are you referring to? 1.80 I sent or 2.03 @DejaWiz sent? Which one is better?

Fantastic result

But doesn’t the 1.8 have a better result? See, stuff like this I am not sure if I understand. Can you tell me why the 1.8 above isn’t an ideal one but the 2.03 is? Thanks so much.

No, it's not a better result, just a different result based on the few numbers given on the grading report.

< 2.0 = excellent HCA score, but assessment recommended/needed to ensure no issues with the cut precision and optics.
Remember: the HCA is (and always was) a mass diamond rejection tool, not an individual diamond selection tool. Weed out all the bad candidates to be left with a more manageable sum of diamonds to then start scrutinizing on an individual basis.

Despite the < 2.0 score on the 1.8, I'm not liking the optics as seen in the video (paddling around the crown and maybe some over-obstruction under the table)...I'd definitely want to see ASET scope images.

@DejaWiz Which leaves 2.03 the only option…thank you so muchhhh…were you able to see any other diamond that I should consider?

Yes, the 2.03 is a better cut and a nicer stone.

Nope, nothing that was as well cut and proportioned...I think and hope that you'll be very happy with the 2.03 diameter and optics.
Please let us know what your thoughts and impressions are once you receive your diamond - tons of pictures and videos too, if you wouldn't mind!

@DejaWiz @tyty333 thank you both! We’ll be doing the upgrade tomorrow! I will post the pictures once I get the upgraded ring in about 4-8 weeks they said. This diamond will come with a 4-prong solitaire setting.

Awesome and there are lots of us looking forward to the pictures of your new diamond!

@DejaWiz @tyty333 Bluenile is still working on “checking” my original diamond. It does take weeksssss to get the upgrade done. I feel like with the time waiting, I can still find more diamonds that are comparable to the 2.03 one that we chose.

Still no new ring pictures for you guys yet. Lol

Hi, vdxx!
Not seeing much in their inventory right now, unless you move to their Astor lineup, but then that'll command at least another $10k for 1.9+ carats or require slimming down to 1.6 carats and under.
Supply and availability seems to be slim pickings right now.

Stinks that it takes so long but I get that they have to make sure the stone you return is still in the shape you purchased it in.
We'll be hanging out and waiting for photos. Hopefully, not too much longer!

This is the only other one I found that had potential.

Also tagging @tyty333

Finally it’s in production LOL Waiting for it almost made me change my mind and not wanting to do the upgrade.

By the way, my sister is now also wanting to do the upgrade. Can you guys help find something between 15-20K please? She isn’t sure about the carat but she was looking at this one.
