Even the US government wont employ Americans!!!!

And we wonder why the economy is going down the toilet!!
Yes storm, that''s your boy and his administration, hard at work to save a buck while they line their own nests at our expense.
The Dems aren''t any better.
Its the same bureaucrats running things no matter who is in the White House.

Maybe everyone should actually read the article before responding?

It says the government printing office outsourced the making of BLANK passports, so none of our information would be in jeopardy. It is the possibility of blank ones getting in the hands of the wrong people that should be of concern.

And how Bush should get blamed for this is beyond me. One agency decided to outsource the work and it doesn''t even sound like congress or the administration would have even known about it. May as well blame Hillary and Obama while we''re at it.

The other security problem is that new passports have microchips in them, so even if they're blank they still have encrypted information that could be stored until they're actually printed, and then misused (at least, this is my understanding of it). I'm not sure this is a political thing, necessarily, but now that it's been discovered I sure hope that pols from both sides will be addressing the problem pronto. And I'm especially annoyed at the fact that a statute forbids making profit on the printed item, yet $100M+ has already been banked. GRRR!

guilty of only scanning the article.....and still ticked off that this essential service has been outsourced, especially to the group in thailand that has already been compromised by chinese espinoge.

Even if our information is not in jeopardy, c'mon!, enough with the outsourcing/offshoring!

Outsourcing US passports? That act is rife with symbolism.

Really, we couldn't make those in the US?

is right.

Corporations outsource to make more profits. Well, if they're making more profits, where is the money going? Not flowing back into our economy, that's for sure.

And while we're at it, why don't we tank our economy and collude with criminals?
