USAA Diamond

Hi Everyone!

Does anyone have opinions on buying diamonds through USAA? We bought a diamond through USAA last week and it had a ship date of the 30th....we checked on the shipping last night and it said that it was "back ordered" and would ship May 1st. I don''t understand how a specific diamond could be back ordered, so now I am confused/weary.

If anyone has dealt with them and had experiences with purchasing diamonds....please let me know!

Hmmm...I am also a USAA member but I did not purchase through them. I think if you''re willing to purchase online, you should purchase from a vendor whose focus is diamonds, such as Whiteflash or Good Old Gold. They offer a lot more information on the diamonds they have, and you can be sure they''ll find you an ideal cut diamond at a great price. Just my two cents!

I can''t personally say one way of another, but I have read good and bad things on here.

Do a search for past posts on USAA and you will find lots of information. If I were you I would just give them a call and see what the story is. Sometimes they sell diamonds that they do not have in house, so there can be a lag in shipment as they get the diamonds from the owners to them and then to you.

We were more willing/able to buy through them, as they have 0% financing for 12 months. I was excited when we bought it...but now that I am reading more and more on here I am not as excited.

It was not an ideal cut...but it was an Excellent cut, F color, VS1, .90ct. I don''t have the rest of the exact specs though.

I''ve looked through their inventory several times, and there are definitely some deals to be had, but you have to be careful and check out the GIA/AGS reports. I did find on more than one occassion that they listed a stone as Ideal or Exellent and then when I pulled the cert up it showed as a lesser cut, only Very Good or Good

I contacted them with the discrepancies and they just gave me some lame answer, so I moved on...
