Using some silk flowers & some fresh flowers?

I'd really like opinions on this- we're getting married on a cruise ship so we can't bring any fresh flowers of our own, only silk (FDA regs apparently). I really only thought I'd use fresh flowers so I was going to order the boutonnieres from the cruise ship (the groom's boutonniere comes with our wedding package and it will be a fresh white rose.)

I found these silk gardenia hair clips on eBay that I loved for my wedding day hairdo but someone kept outbidding me on it. I finally just did "buy it now" on a wholesale lot of six although I only need two for my hair. Gardenias are my favorite flower.

So for the extras, could I use them as the bouonnieres for the best man, FI's father, my brother (he's walking me down the aisle) and my nephew (he's walking my mother who is also my MOH)? Or would it be strange to mix the fresh rose on the groom's boutonniere with silk gardenias on the other men of the wedding party? I think I can just ask the seller not to attach the hair clips to four of the flowers and then pin them with floral pins.

Here's a pic of the flower, it it helps. They're each 3.5"-4" in diameter (hand-made so not all are 100% alike). Thanks so much for your input!!

I don''t think there''s anything wrong with mixing fresh and silk boutonnieres. However, you might want to wait and see how the silk gardenias look in person - they seem a bit large for boutonnieres to me, but otherwise the pic looks really nice.

Lots of times people and/or florists mix fake and real flowers. I don''t like to however because I think that having real flowers right beside fake, emphasizes how fake the fake flowers look. I am having my bouquet and fh''s bout. made of silk flowers because we want to keep them, but all the other flowers will be real. I just don''t like real and fake right next to each other.

Those are really pretty fakies btw~ Are you planning on putting real and fake flowers next to eachother? Or will some groomsmen wear the gardenia''s and others wear a rose? I had gardenia''s in my hair too and my entire bouquest was gardenia''s as well.

Thanks so much to you all for your input. I don''t plan on mixing silk with fresh within the same arrangement, just having my bouquet and Jim''s (FI''s) bout in fresh since that comes with our package, then the add-on flowers such as MOH bouquet and MOB coursages as well as groomsmen''s bouts in silk. It''s way cheaper than using the cruiseline''s floral upgrades, and if the gardenias are too large for bouts (good feedback, I hadn''t even thought about that!) then I can use them in the MOH bouquet or coursages.
