I am so frustrated and anxious right now and I just have to vent!

My sister is getting married this Saturday and she wanted our mom''s old e-ring stone reset into a pave halo pendant so she could wear it (it has been in a YG setting). I contacted Whiteflash, because I knew that they would do an excellent job. We got everything all sorted out, despite the hurricane and looming deadline, and on the 27th of September, I shipped the stone Registered Insured US mail.

IT IS NOT THERE, YET! I say "yet" because I am still holding out hope that this sentimental item is not lost forever. As it is, we had to nix the custom setting. The wonderful people at WF said that if the stone arrived in time, they would at least set it in a temporary white gold, four prong setting with a chain and overnight it to the palce where she is getting married (rather than to my town, as origianlly planned, since I am leaving tomorrow to drive down there). But it has yet to arrive and my level of anxiety keeps growing.

At the post office, they originally told me it would be 4 or five days...it has now been more than two weeks! When I spoke with them on Friday, they said they have been having plane problems because of the storms, but that it should definitely arrive by Tues. Now I''m really getting concerned that it has been lost. And I only insured it for $1000, because we have no paperwork on it. I know it is around half a carat, colorless to my eye (D-F?) and eye clean, but included. Unfortunately, I have no way to prove any of this!

I won''t be able to get to my post office until tomorrow, but WF has asked USPS to initiate a search for the package to find out where it is. Hopefully, we will hear back soon. In the mean time, I am completely distraught and my sister, occasionally known as Bridezilla, is not happy with me for choosing to mail the stone in the first place. I don''t even want to think of the argument this is going to cause if she has to go with out it!

ARGHHHHHHH!

...this was a $200 gown...thank God I always have the packages insured. I feel bad for the woman....she has been waiting...Just like your family for this very special stone.

My box was heading in to Louisianna (nearTx)....I don''t know if they are having problems with packages sent to this part of the country?

God I hope that your ring is found!

with usps it should get there , but i understand.. UPS jsut lost mine, cant even find it, atleast yours in still in transit

Just a thought but could WF set it with a CZ until you find out the fate of your package? At least you sister would have something to wear.

I''m so sorry!!!

Let''s all hope it shows up at WF tomorrow.

Gosh seriously that sucks! So sad to hear the sentimental item may be lost. Please keep us posted.

Fatafelice,

I''ll send you a PM/email as well - but in case you are not logged in - please contact us this morning. Thank you.

omigosh, how upsetting... I would be so heartbroken to lose a family piece!

I''ll keep my fingers crossed that they find it for you!

Thanks, everyone for your sympathy! I knew you all would understand the frustration like no one else! And thank you, John, for your help and that of everyone at WF. You guys have been amazing!

I just got home from my sister''s wedding, but I did want to update this. According to USPS on Thursday (last day I was home), my package arrived in Houston on Sept. 28th -- the day after I left it at the post office here in NJ. What happened to it after that has yet to be determined! I am still not giving up hope. It is obviously too late for my sis to wear in her ceremony, but her wonderful new husband gave her a gorgeous emerald cut aquamarine and diamond halo pendant as her wedding gift, which she was more than happy to wear!

FINALLY! Nearly three weeks later and with no explanation, my stone has finally arrived at WF. Even though my sis cannot wear it for her wedding now, I have decided to go ahead and have it reset! I need a reward for going through all of this!

I will be sure to post the wax when I get pics!

Wow, you do deserve a reward. I''m so glad they did finally find it though, especially since it''s a family heirloom. Can''t wait to see the waxes
