Ok, so my two best friends are dating, which is kind of weird for me, but luckily they''ve been together for almost a year now and they rarely fight. Well about a month into their relationship he bought her this GORGEOUS peridot and tan (no idea what they are) stone necklace. Well, she hardly ever wears it because it''s "too fancy and too sparkly". AS IF there is such a thing! Well Kaise (the guy) took it to heart that she wasn''t wearing it, so spent around 9 months not buying her anything that she could wear. Anyway, for Valentines he was going to surprise her with a huge bouquet of purple roses and calla lillies (her favorites) delivered to her work. Well, she went through his cell phone while she was *ahem* slightly inebriated one night and found his texts to me about his plan. He was heartbroken about it because he''d put so much time into the decision.

So, through a bit of convincing and a really long email, I talked him into trying jewelry again, because he still wanted to surprise her with something. Today we went shopping at maul stores and found this beautiful little heart shaped peridot ring in 10kt and we decided it was perfect for her, because it isn''t all big and blingy like the necklace he got her last time, and she might actually wear this one on a regular basis. Yay!

We were going for either peridot, because it''s almost the color of her eyes, only they have a hint of light brown in them, or purple because its her favorite color, but all the amethyst rings we looked at were either gaudy or just not her style. Ah, and she wears green and brown a lot.

Anyway, as soon as we got back to my place I grabbed the ring and my camera because I figured that you ladies wouldn''t mind seeing this little v-day surprise.
But first: a pic of the happy couple!

In sunlight! Doesn''t do the color any justice though.

I was rushing to take pics because I had to get to class, but I did what I could with about 2 minutes for a photo session, and I still really need a new camera.

Outside in the sunlight on my finger! Muah ha ha ha ha! I'm really not a big fan of the heart shape in general but I really love this little ring.

You can really see the swoopy detail on the sides in this pic.

Seriously if she doesn't like this ring and won't wear it everyday, I'm going to make him take it back and get one in a blue stone for me.

I don't know any stats besides 10kt, untreated peridot and a size 6 1/2. Sorry guys!

What do you guys think?

That''s a sweet ring. I hope she likes it.

Cute couple! And the ring is really sweet! I''d love to get one like that for my daughter.

I think it''s lovely for a blingaphobe. Actually, I''d wear it as a pinkie ring.

Glad you helped the guy out!

It is pretty, and it is my birthstone

Its darling!!!!! It looks like a good pick for a blingaphobe (good term somethingshiny)

What a cute couple :)

I love it and i think for someone who does not like flashy big pieces that would be perfect.

Beautiful V-Day gift!!! Now, tell that girl to stay off the sauce and stop ruining surprises by going through her man''s cell!

LOL! She''s lucky to have a bling loving friend like you who is encouraging her man to keep trying with the jewelry gifts...makes me wish my DH had a chick friend who''d do the same, hee hee.
