I got some light toned, medium saturated lavender roses and some dark toned chocolates. Some might complain that they were too dark, but that's the one criterion that I demand. The other criteria such as cut and clarity of the chocolate are not as important as the dark tone. In fact, they have become almost totally extinct.

Received some pale pink, not quite pad roses . They have major zoning.

Oooh, I'm so glad I clicked in here and got to see this pic! The ring looks beautiful! I am very partial to the look of mahenges with mint garnets, but I really like seeing how the darker green emeralds look with it.

Do you mind sharing who set the gems/did the ring?

Oh but to answer the original question ... No, no v day gifts. I've been married too long for that, lol. Or in other words, it's just not a thing we celebrate. DH's bday is today so we have a little evening planned for that

I actually purchased the setting second-hand (loupe troop), with the emeralds already in place. I had a local jeweler resize the ring, do some prong work, and set the center stone. The pictures never seem to catch thr emerald color exactly, they are a nice medium toned green with a slight...bluish modifier. Here is another shot outdoors on a rare cloudy day.
