@Va230815 -

I see you're new here. Since these are big ticket items, for everyone's comfort and to encourage people to buy with confidence - do you have another ID on PS? I saw your pieces on LT, but wondered if we know you.

I love malachite! And would also love to be able to walk into VCA and buy all those pieces in one day. A girl can dream...

Hey there, no I do not. Totally understand the hesitation and concern as this is a brand new account and i am an unknown.Do you have any suggestions on how to allay people's concerns?

@LLJsmom come take a look.

Good luck with your sale @Va230815

Thank you @missy
You're so sweet to think of me. These are beautiful pieces. If I was in the market for malachite and tiger eye, I would be all over it.

Dear OP, good luck! And I would suggest blocking out the serial number and making it available to anyone seriously interested, who would contact you via louetroop.

These are quite beautiful and I am sure there are people who would love to buy great condition VCA pieces second hand! Having the certificates of authenticity is important, and if she could provide copies of the sales receipts with private info covered, I think it would add to the confidence of the buyer. I wish these were pieces on my wishlist, because excellent condition second hand certainly is appealing! Meeting at VCA would be an excellent idea for any of our NYC area people.

Considering the potential difficulty of you selling them to someone directly, you might consider taking them to Briony Raymond in NYC. She has her own jewelry business and sells VCA pieces for people quite often. She also used to work at VCA, so she is very familiar with VCA pieces.

Of course, the price would be higher for the buyer that way since her commission and sales tax would be added.

Good luck! I think there will be some happy buyers of these pieces!

There's nothing wrong with being new here. We all were new at some point.
You offered to meet the buyer at VCA which is a great idea. Some people here also offered you good advice.
@diamondseeker2006 thank you for always being positive and helpful.

@nkc The vendor DS mentioned has a turquoise 10 motif available. IIRC you were looking for one at one point? Or were you wanting a twenty?

Hen’s teeth pieces, both!

Thank you for letting me know. I was wanting a 20 at the time but changed my mind now.
I don't know if this happens to everyone but my taste changes. I still like it but it's not at the top of the list. Thanks again for letting me know.

Thank you all for your kind words and suggestions.

I was curious and asked how much and she told me almost $30k :oops2::eek2:

@Va230815 OP I’ll be sending you an email shortly to ask a few questions! Thanks!

Turquoise Alhambra is so rare and desirable that people with a lot of money will pay those kinds of prices for pieces in great condition. I don't even ask the prices on turquoise, because if they are in good condition, they'll likely sell at double the price of the current similar new pieces.

Turquoise has a beautiful blue color. It is unclear to me why VCA and T&Co. have discontinued some of their Turquoise pieces. Do you know? Has turquoise become harder to find?

The main source of beautiful, high quality turquoise was coming from the Sleeping Beauty mines in AZ. That mine was closed in 2012 making that turquoise more desirable and expensive. So lack of supply prohibits jewelers from mass producing pieces. VCA and other high end jewelers will just use turquoise in certain pieces that will not require a large amount.

It is a similar situation for lapis. Great lapis comes from Afghanistan, so obviously we aren't able to access that at this time.
