Well my FF, mom and I went to check out 2 venues this past weekend. They couldn''t be more opposite!
On Friday we saw the Club at Morgan Hill, a golf club/restaurant in a new, expensive development.... and they are known for their food! Cocktail hour is out on a lovely balcony overlooking the valley. In case it rains the cocktail hour can be brought into the restaurant. The reception is held on the lower patio in a tent. Now the view is lovely, but the tent not so much. Just a plain white tent, and it is windy up on the mountain. The idea of an outside wedding scares me due to weather conditions and also having to make the tent appealing. You have so many things to worry about on your wedding day, I don''t want to worry about weather.
On Saturday, we went to see the Bank St Annex. A bank, built in in 1918 (although it had more of a 40s vibe to me and my mom. So romantic!). It was breathtaking! All the old bank elements were preserved and it had a high ceiling to die for! It is carved wood, in a coppery color, and just awesome. The whole building has a very romantic feel. My only issue is that the location isn''t that great. Easton, PA is a historic city with neat historic buildings, but the Bank St Annex is located next to an abandon warehouse and that is one of the first things you see walking from the parking garage (another thing I am not crazy about). Although, I feel once people would get into the venue, they would understand why we picked the place. We are going to a tasting for the food (which is key for us!). This place is a bit cheaper so we could invite some more people.
So do we go with the not so attractive tent with great food, but no plan B for bad weather or the romantic venue that allows us to have more friends and family next to the run down warehouse?
