So I'm having so much fun taking pics of my rings. Hope you don't mind more images! I picked this one up on eBay a few weeks ago as a 15th anniversary / birthday present. A vintage 1920's ring, diamond and platinum, size 3, 21 E-F VS2-SI1 stones, and I absolutely love it!!

REALLY pretty!

Very classy!

But may I say, I'm jealous of your size 3 finger!

Thanks ladies :)

I have a question: can anyone tell, from these pictures, and the time period, what type of cut the diamonds probably have? They are generally very sparkly but can look a little 'flat' in certain lights (like this image), and I'm guessing that's because they're an older cut and not the round brilliants that are more typical these days?

Ha, I was just going to ask you the exact same question! They look like either single cut or OEC, in my non-professional, underinformed opinion :cheeky:

You're good! I asked the seller and he replied back that they are single cut :)

To die for...really!

Oh swoon! I think they are single cuts too, best for fire. I guess 20-30s. So pretty!

I was going to say they were single cuts because they didn't look like 57/58 facet diamonds. That's fitting for a vintage ring.

Gorgeous ring!!!

Thanks everyone 8) I liked this pic too and forgot to include it earlier:

Yes, I asked the seller about that because it was in absolutely pristine, mint condition. He didn't know any details about the origin (he buys pieces in bulk), but he says he sometimes gets pieces that have basically sat in a safety deposit box for years. I'm guessing that's the story with this ring because it was so perfect.

What a fabulous find! It looks amazing and I love the engraving on the sides. It is such a classic look.

In my opinion, there is no such thing as too many pictures of jewelry!!! Your ring is fantastic and I am so jealous of your tiny fingers!!!

Oooh, how very pretty!

Absolutely gorgeous!

So classic, so beautiful! Gorgeous with the engraving.

Wow that's pretty awesome! Where did you get it? :appl:

Beautiful band! I can't believe you wear a size 3!

That's a stunning band! It looks so elegant, and the engraving on the sides gives it a very antique and classy look!
