Vintage flower earrings. Glass or gemstones?

I wonder if again the experts far more knowledgeable than myself could help me with these stones. I am visiting my home country and popped into a pawn shop today with my mum. Saw these earrings and needed to buy them. They are 750 yellow gold, stamped and have some others stamps too but I cannot read them without my loupe. I will take them to a jeweler to elongate the hooks as now they hang too close to my earlobes to dangle freely. She might be of help with the identification process as well but not sure as she’s a small town jeweler.

They are light yellowish green stones. They are very clean, cannot see any inclusions without a loupe. This makes me think they are glass but the 18k gold suggest they could be gemstones as well? They are quite lovely and large yet not too imposing in my ears. I’m not fully loving the setting so I will see if I want to re-set them later on. They were in an old jewelry case so I think they are not exactly brand new as the style suggests as well.

Any help will be much appreciated. I will love them regardless but I always love to know more =)2

I've seen some synthetic green/yellow spinel or sapphire for sale that is of similar color. Or if it's a natural gem, could be chrysoberyl as Burmesedaze suggested.

Here's an example in 10k gold.

Just wondering, wouldn’t they be more well cut if they were synthetic?

I have some pretty little antique green and “diamond” star earrings in a similar color that were given to me. I am pretty sure they are glass, but I enjoy them anyway. Mine have kind of wavy lines under the loupe.

I think you’ve got a very pretty find and I hope you’ll keep the sweet flower settings! I hope your jeweler can give you more information on the stones. Hopefully she will just be honest if she doesn’t know. Be sure to let us know what you find out!

Typically a synthetic spinel, I have a 22ct gold ring of middle eastern origin that contains a very substantial size synthetic spinel in the exact same colour.
Very pretty and will wear well.

My vote would be synthetic spinel also, but what I really wanted to say, is that I love your cute Shiba! :mrgreen2:

Thank you all for your helpful replies. My stones look of similar color to both the chrysoberyls and synthetic spinels I now saw online. The jeweler louped the stones and didn't see any inclusions or surface scratches. They measured at 13mmx8mm. She's thinking they are some kind of gemstones but lacks expertise to guess which type. She could not spot any "glass formation marks(?)". I don't put too much weight on her word though. She mostly works with silver jewelry and occasionally with some gold pieces. I asked if she could set my 0.33 ct diamond and she thought that to be a substantial stone. She also asked if the little OEC stone was a rose cut diamond .... so yeah... small town problems.

I'll loupe them myself still at home and if I learn anything new about them, I'm sure to give an update here. They are really lovely and received yesterday a bunch of compliments from my home town friends. They just shine and stand out even if I wear my hair down. One friend even asked if they are some heirloom pieces  Suffice to say, they are the type of people that would be certain of a 1ct+ diamond being a Swarowski crystal.

Thank you again everyone for your help, I'm happy to have learnt more once again :read: And thank you @Deathspi , Shibas are just too cute and they steal your heart in an instant!

I got a confirmation today that indeed the stones are synthetic spinels! An owner of a vintage jewelry shop recognized the earrings immediately, she knew the maker and the stones. Impressive how so many of you recognized them as synthetic spinels from the pictures alone
