Decision time, two more contenders (of note, neither comes with any certification authenticating the stones to be jade or with regards to any treatment, even if jade, so perhaps keeping that in mind with regards to the price provided):

1. $500 9ct rose gold jade earrings per vendor mid century. I would likely remove them from their current settings, and set them with simple French hooks— should be easy, no? Nothing fancy, these would be for daily wear.

2. $6000 platinum art deco diamond and jade earrings. I like the daintiness, but I can’t decide if these are too long/dangly in length? Are these too much to wear to daily office work? All this really started off with me looking for a pair of simple daily work earrings haha, but have clearly snowballed.

I voted for the Art Deco with diamond ones as they are more aesthetically pleasing to me personally.

Depending on hairstyle and lifestyle, I believe they can be worn on a daily basis.

However, they are not for me as (a) I have short hair and (b) I wear glasses. As such I don't wear dangling style earrings unless they are short.

Edited to add: I am not certain if I would pay that for them though.

DK :))

I like the second pair of jade droplets better. I don't know what it us precisely because I'm not well versed in jade. The green is softer, somehow, and I prefer that they’re smooth and not carved.

The design is also neater on the second pair.

But these differences do not justify a 12-fold difference in price. I think 6k for the second pair borders on outrageous. They’re not that special.

If you like the first pair well enough, go with them. They’re pretty.

I think you can do better than those two. I love the two that @HockeyMama suggested! Those Deco ones have such an iconic look. And the less expensive pair perfectly threads the needle between your two choices -- not mundane but not overly dramatic and still suitable for daily wear, imo. Caveat: male gaze and all.

Could not have said it better myself. My thoughts exactly.

I wouldn’t go with either of the two choices. I like the look of the $6k ones, but that is an outrageous price for what they are.

You could get the first ones and scrap the setting and get a new setting made that is similar to the second, but it may not be price efficient.

I like both of the ones HockeyMama posted!

I agree with everyone else! I like the second pair better, simply because of the diamonds. However, the price difference is not commensurate to the difference in jade quality. From $500 to $6,000, I was expecting to see a big jump in gem fineness. It is not there. But @HockeyMama gave you a great alternative!

I just have basic studs but both those are classy the 2nd one extra classyDSCN3210.jpg
