My engagement ring is 4.75. I saw emeraldlover1''s rose gold stacker bands (for w-bands) and liked the idea. Before making any commitments to have it ordered in a custom size I went into a BM store to see the different widths as well as sizes. I''m looking at getting bands that are 2mm and I tried on a 5 and 6 of a 2mm white gold band. Um....the size 5 wouldn''t even go over my knuckle

, it was that tight

! The 6 was kinda loose but at least it went over my knuckles. What the heck! I don''t get it. Is the size of the w-band different from an e-ring? I was sized using the ring sizers and I''ve always been a 4.75 in every store I''ve gone into. When you ordered/bought your w-band was it the same size as your e-ring? What should I do? The rings I want are only available online (similar to EM1''s but not quite). Should I just order them and see what size fits? Then return/exchange what doesn''t? I''m so confused why the sizes are so different when I thought they''d be the same.

my e-ring is also a 4-3/4, it''s loose some days and tight but not too tight on others, i purchased an eternity band as my wedding band in a size 4-7/8 and altho i haven''t worn it on a daily basis yet, it''s been just fine the times i''ve worn it

i have a size 6 three quarters eternity and that is way too big for my ring finger, were your fingers possibly swollen? or is it possible that the sizes weren''t accurate at your BM? i''m definitely not an expert, but that seems like a big size difference

Sizing should be consistent in both wedding bands and engagement rings.

I do find, however, that I can wear a smaller size (not more than 1/2 a size) in thinner rings.

I don''t think my finger was swollen, FF. I was actually quite surprised as to how much smaller a size 5 was in this BM store. Now I''m just really curious and I''m going to go to a different BM store just to try out their size 5 and 6 because you''re right...this is a big discrepancy. I was just wondering if it''s normal to have different size wbands to erings, but I don''t think it''s suppose to be THAT much difference.

Yes, I would agree that you should go to another store because sizing shouldn''t be that off. My ering and band are the same size, but I will admit that my ering takes a little more work to get on than my band.

Does the store where you want to order them from offer a guide to sizing or can they send you sizing rings to try out so you get the right size the first time?

my fingers a bit weird...

my engagement ring is sized at 8.5 and it fits perfectly it even has a tendency of spinning on my finger and then my something blue band is sized at a 9 because it just fits more comfortable than if i would have had it sized the same as my engagement ring and then my wedding band is at a 9.25 because a size 9 was too snug...

so all my rings are different sizes by about a quarter a ring, which is fine because they are all so comfortable when i wear them all together

Ok, so I went into a different BM store (B) for lunch to try on their rings. I think I''m going to safely assume that BM store (A) from the first post is off on their sizing. The size 6 on BM store B was loose and didn''t fit me at all. Unfortunately, they didn''t have a 5 or lower in stock so I''m still going to go and check at another BM store or just order the ring I want in a size 5, return it if it doesn''t fit and get a custom order 4.75. I think that''s going to be the best bet. Thanks ladies for the input!!!
