She says lets reunite and asking for support on this one.

Someone from my neighborhood started this. Lancaster PA is notorious for them. This woman put billboards up near Oprah''s studio to get her attention, and it clearly worked!

I had to google that term to see what it meant, I have heard of them here but we call them puppy/kitty farms they tend to cater to the massive chain pet stores, absolutely awful.

I hope that something good will come out of it after the show.Oprah can make things happen fast..I have my hopes high...

I saw this show when it first aired awhile back. It is heart breaking!

I actually had to change the channel at one point because I was making myself sick. People need to send letters to their legislators to pass stricter laws to get rid of these awful puppy mills. (You can find more info on doing so on oprah''s page). I know that after the show many people did write and they are taking more steps to tighten legislation in PA. I live in PA and have seen a few articles in the paper. Also, she really reinforces that we should not be purchasing our pets from pet stores or from any large breeders since you don''t know if they are coming from one of these places. After you watch the show you will only want future pets from the human society!

Yea, I saw this episode when it first aired...it was heartbreaking! My BF came home and I was in tears...thought something happened.

There is very little in this world that makes me feel hatred towards another human being...abusing animals, that is definitely one of them.

Don''t miss it...

I volunteered at a local humane society when one of these "mills" was raided - something like 150 animals were resuced. It was terrible. Stillborn puppies, so much fighting for food because the mill didn''t feed the animals enough, dehydration in all the animals, and a host of other concerns. Several had to be euthanised because of illness. I can''t believe that people do this. It makes me sick.

I must say I had no idea how devastating these puppy mills in fact are.
The dogs after being deemed unworthy of existence had never actually stepped food on ground and had to be taught how to walk.
truly disgusting that they are operating in accordance with the law which does not have any limitations and in fact does not exist..

It is appalling the conditions in these places, and yet people seem largely uninformed and only too happy to walk into their local pet store and pay a huge amount of money for a poorly-bred, possibly quite sick puppy bred in these horrendous conditions. It truly makes me both sick and angry. I sincerely hope that Oprah bringing attention to this problem will help to raise awareness and eventually lead to change...

I feel the same way....it will make me so furious that I will feel physically sick to see something like this....hatred, that''s the perfect word for the way I feel about animal abusers.

My neighbors mother recently bought a puppy from a lady who was selling about 50 of them near the setup of a large, local event near my neighborhood. She said she actually picked out that particular puppy because it looked almost dead and she wanted to save it. Said it was an Australian Shepherd (who knows) and sold it to her for $20. She took it to the vet where they promptly removed over 500 ticks, kept them in a jar of alcohol as evidence and reported the woman...of course, she had since packed up and left. Said the puppy''s gums were completely white it was so anemic and would have been dead in two days. I did see the puppy in the neighbors yard a few days later and he was running and playful. Still makes me wonder where the rest of the 49 puppies are...ya know?
