We can''t seem to make up our minds! St. Lucia or Jamaica

Anyone have any thoughts as to whether we should honeymoon in St. Lucia or Jamaica? We can''t seem to make up our minds!

). both will be fabulous, obviously!! i have never been to either, so i''m going to use google images to vote!

they look very similar. based on pics im leaning towards st lucia too!

St. Lucia! I''ve heard that it is absolutely gorgeous. I''ve also heard that parts of Jamaica are dangerous (I''ve never been)...I just wouldn''t want to have to worry about safety on my honeymoon.

Well, I haven''t been to St. Lucia, but my parents have and rave about its beauty. In general, St. Lucia is famous for its beauty. I have been to Jamaica and didn''t think the natural beauty was all that stunning. Also, when I was there some years ago, it was not recommended to go into some of the major towns for safety reasons. I''m not sure that is still so, and would also depend on where your resort is, but for me, I don''t always want to be secluded in the resort I''m staying in, I want to go into town and have dinner there sometimes.

In sum, I don''t have enough up-to-date info to have an expert opinion, but enough to have some sort of opinion...

I''ve been to both and I would vote St Lucia too! St Lucia is like the "hawaii of the caribbean" (very lush and tropical)

If you do choose Jamaica, stay in Negril -better beaches and sunsets!

I''ve been wary of Jamaica since a female travel writer vanished from her upscale resort & hasn''t ever been found. She''d been hanging out with a resort bartender who hasn''t been cooperative.

However I''ve been to St. Lucia and loved it. Recommend it to all my friends. Very lush & tropical and unique compared to the other nearby islands. St. Lucia!!!!!

If we went to Jamaica we would be looking at Negril because of the amazing beach there. It''s less pricey than St. Lucia and easier to get to. The other problem with St. Lucia is that I haven''t found many all-inclusive resorts there besides Sandals. Has anyone been to a Sandals in St. Lucia? Or another all-inclusive?

I am trying to convince FI to take me to Jade Mountain for our Honeymoon, but we also can''t seem to decide where we are going. (and we are less than one week out from our wedding!)

I have been to Sandals St Lucia and I LOVED it. We went for 10 days and that is when I knew I wanted to marry my FI. (the fact that we could stand one another for that long 24/7) I will actually be honeymooning at Sandals in Jamaica because of the price and time of year we are going but I highly highly recommend St. Lucia!

Don''t know much about either, but from pictures and what I''ve seen I would have to say St. Lucia! It looks STUNNINGLY beautiful!

I''ve been to both and would suggest St. Lucia for a honeymoon and Jamaica for a getaway another time. We went to St. Lucia for our honeymoon and stayed at Ti Kaye. We booked the The Tropical Travelers (we found the company via suggestions on the knot) and were able to pre-pay for a meal plan with our resort booking and package. Our bill at the end of the trip was about $600 dollars for all the extra stuff (food, bottles of rum, a few trips, etc) we charged to the room. We also had a plunge pool in our cabin, and it was awesome! It was "mostly" all inclusive.

I prefer St lucia overall (beauty, safety, tranquility) to Jamaica. I''ve been to Jamaica also and would suggest it for an inexpensive week some other time.

Another vote for St. Lucia! FI and I were actually supposed to go to Jamaica in April and stay at the Rockhouse (which does look amazing), but in the end I was turned off by some of what I read regarding safety, etc. in the area. We decided to book a S. Caribbean cruise instead- one of our ports was St. Lucia. We only spent one day on the island but it was GORGEOUS and all of the people were so friendly. I''ve heard good things about Ti Kaye, Ladera, Jade Mountain. We took a tour (Cosol Tours- HIGHLY recommend them) and we got to go snorkeling at Jalousie Beach at the Jalousie Plantation Hotel. It looked beautiful as well and it''s right between the Pitons!

I stayed at LeSport: The Body Holiday ... which at the time was all inclusive spa+ resort. Your spa treatments came included as well! Think there are many more places now ... very lovely spot in this vast planet we call earth. Highly recommend.

How are the beaches in St. Lucia? We''re looking at the Windjammer and Sandals. My only concern is for a 7 day honeymoon, two of those days will be spent mostly in travel. However I guess that can''t be helped! I think we''d book the heliocopter on the way in because I''ve hard the drive is long and twisty and I''m sure we''ll be anxious to get there. Has anyone done the cruise where you spend time sipping rum on the boat that was used in the pirates of the Carribean?

The two other things that swayed us toward Jamaica were the much shorter flight, and reading about the amount of rain St. Lucia gets, since we were going in rainy season.
