We found it!! but I need your help...

Hello ladies!

My dear boyfriend and I are just back from our shopping trip and I''m snooping on his computer while he''s watching cartoons to tell you how it went!

We found IT at Birks jewelers. They quoted us 1275 CAD (1110 USD) for .25 ct total, G-VS2 in 18k white gold, which is absolutely ridiculous, so I convinced my boyfriend to go online (thanks princessv, it''s your story that got him convinced!!

) and I''ll be asking for a quote for the same ring with .50 ct total. He may be willing to go for platinum too, since his budget is 2k!!

The only thing is: I need your help to find at side view of the ring to send Pete at Quest Jewelers along with the top view. I''m posting a pic of the top view I found on the Birks website, I hope you can help me! The stones are set in the band in a half-bezel setting and the side is v-shaped and it lets you see through the sides of the diamonds...

I love it! It is so dainty and delicate! I think I love it even more though because it is under 1 ct. which is what I will eventually look at and there aren''t many on here that buy under a ct. for their ering anymore. Congradualations!

ebree that looks exactly like what she mentioned re: the half bezel and side visual V...even the top down looks the same as well. sweet.

it looks great anchor, and hopefully you could have it made with more ctw for your budget..keep in mind though that custom doesn't automatically mean cheaper or anything. but i'm sure you can work it out! congrats!

That''s what I was thinking. I bet they''re set the same...the only difference is that Anchor''s is a three stone. Either way, the ring looks great! Quest is a good choice!

I actually went to see the ring today, just browing in the Birks store! It''s beautiful, and much prettier then it is in the picture! I hope you can do it for your budget. If not, well honestly, the Birks one is just beautiful, a little on the expensive side, but custom might cost more and might now look 100% like that one. Either way, you''ve picked a beauty!

J was really funny during the weekend, he talked about rings almost constantly! He told his entire family about the ring we found and how we''re hoping we can have it made exactly how I want it, etc. He was so cute! He told me he told the lady at Birks it was for the summer, but that he could still do it in December for all I know, he just wanted to see if their collection was going to change. Why do I have the feeling he was trying to throw me off?

I''m planning on telling my parents about the upcoming engagement this week, so wish me luck! It probably won''t be as bad as I think it''ll be...

Even if he was trying to throw you off about this summer, I would be inclined to think he''s trying to make you think it''ll be LATER than it really will be, since you''re already getting the ball rolling on making the ring, and it starts to burn a hole in most guys'' pockets really quickly!
