Let me give you a little back ground. My grandfather on my Dad''s side was a pastor until the day he passed on August 4, 1997. My uncle (Dads brother) is also a pastor. It kinda runs in the family...
So, my Mom was talking with my uncle the other day and casually mentioned him marrying FI and I (I didn''t know she was doing this) and he said he would be honored and happy to do it. So FI and I discussed and decieded we''re going to officially ask my uncle to marry us!!! YIPPE
. I know he''ll say yes, esp after the convo with my Mom and I''m so excited that one of my family members is going to marry us. He also sings very well (also runs in the family, I love to sing) and we were thinking of having him as a soloist. He says that he CAN do both, but FI would rather have a seperate soloist then relying on my uncle. So we''ll see how that goes.
Side note...some of you may think this is strange/weird but our wedding date is for August 4, 2007...10 years after the death of my grandfather. My Mom is who pointed this out to me and my heart sunk. I talked to my Dad about it since it was his father and all he told me that he didn''t see one thing wrong with it and that if that''s the date we wanted then we should go for it. FI and I agreed, and we aren''t disrespecting my late grandfather at all. In a way it makes the day even more special...we know that he is in a better place and that one sweet day we''ll see him again.
Anyways I''m excited we have a minister who will be marrying us!!!
