Well it's finally almost summer and time to go on our honeymoon!! I can't believe we've been married over 6 months already! Crazy!

Anyways, here's where we'll be!

Paris
Athens
Mykonos
Santonrini
Paris !!

We're going round trip through Paris so we're doing a few days on each end. Then a few days in Athens and Mykonos then 6 days in Santorini!

We'll be gone until June 15th, I'm super excited! I've been to Paris before but never Greece. It's my DH's first time to both.

Anyone have any tips about Greece or anything else before we go? Just in case I'm forgetting something! I feel totally overwhelmed with all of the travel arrangements I'm having to make sure are in order!

Also I just got laid off from my job which sucks but I did hate my job and the severance is good so I'll actually be able to fully relax and not worry about work for once.

ETA: One thing we did do, get plain white gold bands. We decided not to travel with our wedding/engagement rings bling.

VERY exciting! I love Santorini! It''s so romantic!!!

I am so jealous (my dream vacation!), but also very happy for you!

Please come back with lots of pictures for us

How exciting!

I know you didn''t ask for Paris tips, but here''s a link to my favorite food find -- one of them, at least -- during my trip to Paris last summer. Very French cuisine-y, at a very reasonable prices (we ate there for lunch). Near Notre Dame etc.

Have a wonderful trip!

Now... where is that green with envy smilei when you really need it?

eeks! how awesome. we just got back from paris. i hope you love it as much as we did!

Where are you staying in Santorini? We just booked our honeymoon yesterday...Athens, Crete, and Santorini. Santorini we are staying at Mistique.

Awwwwwww, have fun! I want to see photos!

That''s cool! Have a brilliant time.I was in Greece years ago so I can''t remember much about it. All I can remember was that the food was amazing, weather was fab and the men used to follow our group everywhere-it was really annoying. You''ll have a great time.

Actually thanks for the tip! I did want some restaurant tips. I got a book about restaurants in Paris but it''s a bit tough to wade through. So that''s going on my list! :)

The infinity pool looks amazing!

Some of our friends stayed there on their honeymoon and highly recommended it, so did Trip Advisor!

Violet!!! We''re going to Santorini too! We have 3 days in Athens and then 5 or 6 in Santorini (can''t remember). PLEASE post pictures when you get back! My wedding isn''t until late July (high season).

That''s so funny what you said about plain bands...I''m thinking of getting a plain silver one for our honeymoon as well!

Sorry about your job...the economy seems to be picking up slowly (at least in my area) so I''m sure you''ll find something soon!

It sounds like such great fun! I wish you a wonderful trip violet!!! Take lots of photos

Sorry about your job loss (My boyfriend lost his job last month too so I know what you are going through) Try to put that aside for now and enjoy your well deserved honeymoon!

We''re staying one night in Fira and 5 nights in Oia. June is part of the high season there as well only it''s a bit cooler. It will be hot in July but should be really nice still! I looked at the forecast for the next couple of weeks and it looks like it will be 80-85 whereas paris will be 68-70.

Silicon Valley''s been getting hit quite a bit lately. Yahoo got a big hit just before Microsoft did. At least my hubby still has a job!

I''m actually starting my own business right now doing invitations, favors etc so I''ll work on that for awhile.

We''re getting white gold bands from Single Stone. Ari''s so helpful!

I''ll definitely take lots of photos!

When I heard we were getting layoffs that day I was actually pretty certain I''d be laid off. I was hoping for it actually since I was pretty unhappy and work and I knew they were giving people really big severance payouts. We''ll see how the economy picks up in the next couple of months. I got lucky with my layoff and the severance... Sorry to hear about your boyfriend I hope he''s able to find work soon!

what a fantastic trip! have a wonderful time!!

Oh, my gosh -- that''s such an amazing trip. I LOVE Mykonos -- so much fun. And right now, it''s not so crowded with tourists yet, so perfect!

HAVE A BLAST!

OH WOW!! You''re off to the Greek islands!! I''ve heard it''s absolutely beautiful! You''re going to have a fantastic time! Paris is my favourite city in the world!

I also want to give you a BIG HUG for the loss of your job. But I think sometimes you need something like this to happen for you to find a job you love. So relax, take a break and enjoy your honeymoon! You''d be much more refreshed and rejuvenated when you get back.

Thanks ladies!

So I was getting a facial today and the woman that works there said Athens was super boring when she went. She said take one day to see all the historical sites but then that''s about it for that place.

Anyone else have that experience and if you did go what were the highlights for you?

Woo hoo! Have an awesome and safe honeymoon, Violet! Of course, we'll be expecting lots of pics when you return! Sorry about the layoff, but it looks like you're enjoying the "silver lining." Enjoy your trip!

Hey violet! I''m so jealous of your Greek vacation - it is by far my favorite European destination to visit. I found Athens to be pretty much a one day city - see the Acropolis, wander over to the Temple of Zeus, go through the market. But it''s a very congested city and it was over 100 degrees when I was there, so I wasn''t in the mood to walk all over heck and gone. If you ARE in Athens for more than one day, I would highly recommend taking a day tour to Delphi. It''s about a two and a half hour by bus through some really great countryside and Delphi was really amazing. Loved it. The mountain region is absolutely breathtaking.

Since you''re going to Mykonos, I assume you''ll also take a day trip out to Delos. Make the hike up its mountain - well worth it!

I pretty much lazed around when we were on Santorini, but we did take a boat trip over to the crater in the middle of the caldera. And I''ve seen on some travel channel shows that if you rent a car you can find some really great wineries! I was there in early July and it was just starting to get busy, so I think you''re going to hit it at the perfect time. Everything should be open but there shouldn''t be too many people. Definitely rent a car and take a look around the place!

I hope you have an absolute blast!

I''d give Athens one or two days, but not more than that... I''d say one day, but I really enjoy just hanging around places and letting them soak in a bit. Athens'' museum has a nice collection of sculptures, and I enjoyed spending some time on the beach. I didn''t make it to Delphi but wish I had. I did make it to Corinth, it''s a nice archeological site and as a bonus you get to see the Corinth canal, an astounding little bit of engineering. But my strongest memories of Athens are of traffic congestion and air pollution. Given the choice between an extra day in Athens and an extra day on one of the islands, go for the island! BTW do not plan on visiting the Acropolis on a Sunday. It seem half of Athens goes there after church, and it''s super crowded. There''s an amphitheater on the hillside by the Acropolis that''s still in use, so it might be worthwhile to see what''s playing if you are going to be there for more than a day.

Have a fantastic time, Violet! It sounds like it will be an amazing trip!
