YAAAAAY!!!!!
About a week ago, I was venting on a post called "Reception site vent." I was bemoaning poor customer service at a place FI and I had thought could truly be "the one."
Well, after all that, we basically started from scratch. We decided that it would mean more to us to have the ceremony at my childhood church, and thus our reception would be in Boston. The other day we both took off from work and met with wedding planners at potential sites.
One hotel was simply amazing! The customer service and graciousness far exceeded our expectations. The manager of the hotel personally popped into our meeting to intoduce himself and offer his services should we need anything. Complimentary appetizers were sent up by the chef, and staff that we walked past had been alerted to our presence, as we were greeted with "You must be Ms_______ and Mr________, congratulations on your engagement! (Mind you, these were people we simply walked past in the hall - we weren''t even meeting with them!) They comped our valet and told us to leave our car there while we visited other sites so that we needn''t worry about parking elsewhere. Additionally, the (beautiful) ballroom can hold more than we need, our first choice date is available, and we liked the wedding planner!
So why haven''t we signed on the dotted line? We are VERY blessed in having this wedding paid for by my parents. My feeling is, they sign the check, they get the final verdict! So, I think I will drive up to Boston this weekend to show my parents the room. Hopefully, I should know for sure after this weekend!
I am just so excited that had to share it with people that would "get it!"
Wooohooooo!
I guess everything really does happen for a reason!
