I have a question that only pricscopers could answer. I am off to an adventure in Iceland and have heard that you should not wear gold in the sulfur pools because it turns the gold black. I doubt this would happen to platinum but I wanted to make sure. Does anyone know if sulfur would hurt platinuml?

I doubt it, but I don''t know for sure. But here''s a tip: if you''re going to the big famous sulfurous spring halfway between the airport and Rejkjavik, go EARLY like, as early as possible, right when it opens if you can. It''s scrumptious when you''re practically alone in there, and nowhere near as nice once it gets crowded.

You are going to have a ROCKING good time in Iceland. I went trekking there a few years back and it is beyond awesome. It''s like being on another planet... a weird volcanic planet with great smoked fish and awesome cheeses.

Make sure you take your party shoes! Those Rejkjavikers sure know how to have a good time. Allll night long.

Oh how exciting you are going to Iceland!! How lucky you are. Please post pictures when you return. Have a wonderful trip.

Linda

Square cut - I don''t know anything about the sulfur springs except that we went to one in Banff once and my mom''s silver chain was completely destroyed by the tarnish..but gold/platinum don''t tarnish the same way.

But please tell me more about your trip! I''m interested in going to Iceland around this time next year for my honeymoon. Where are you going and what will you be doing? And please post pics when you come back!

Thanks for the tip Independant girl! I will take your advice and go to the blue lagoon early. You''re right -it really does seem like another planet. Linda, I bought the new cannon 870IS to take lots of photos and I''ll post them when I return. If anyone has any other Iceland tips I''d love to hear them!
