Weather Question

I wasn''t totally sure where to post this, but it relates to my reception venue choices, so I figured BWW would be a good spot. I am wondering if anyone knows of a book or preferably a website where I can get historical weather information. We''re looking a sites on the Central Coast of California, and I want to look at the weather patterns of past years to see how hot or cold or foggy or whatever the weather has been like for certain areas. If anyone can come up with a good site, it would be a big help!

The only thing is, I can''t figure out whether it''s more accurate to compare dates (say, June 1) or day of the month (second Saturdays in June)? I would assume day of the month, but I''m certainly not an expert...

The Weather Channel has an actual "wedding weather" page you can set up that gives you historical weather info, plus forecasts for your wedding day. I set one up, and it was fun to check it out every so often. Here''s a link: Weather.com wedding page

Day of the week does not affect weather, except in highly urban environments where extra traffic on weekdays might increase smog, say.

So look at Jun 1, not first Saturday in June.

But also look at May 15 through June 15, as you are really looking for a prediction, and there still will be statistical variation in our records from day to day as we have not been keeping weather averages long enough to fully smooth them out.

Both averages and extremes are useful.

Useful to know that the average high temp is 89, the record high temp is 101. (Meaning upper 90''s is possible on your wedding day.) Useful to know that average rainfall is 0.05 inches, but record rainfall is 1.2 inches. In conjuction with knowing that the average number of rainy days in June is 4, this tells you that rain is unlikely but possible at your venue and you need a rain plan.

Well, I didn''t actually mean day of the week (like Fridays versus Sundays), but rather, for instance if I''m thinking about having a wedding on April 18, 2009, should I be looking at historical data for April 18 or historical data for the 3rd Saturday in April (so 4/21/07, 4/15/06, 4/16/05, etc.)
