Just curious if any of you would have any suggestions for what might look best with my engagement ring. It''s a bit of a challenge since the stone is set so low, but I think if I can find a band that''s 2.5mm tall at most, it would fit well with the e-ring. The shank is 2.5mm wide and round (even more fun!). I love the style of the ring, and don''t want to detract from it, but I also would like to dress up the setting somewhat. I know, I can always wear the band and e-ring on different hands and may resort to that approach, but I thought I''d see what offerings y''all had as ideas. Here''s what my ring looks like:

How about an eternity, or half-eternity band? My ring is a low-set half-bezel and i'm getting a band with 9 little stones in it. I think something like that would complement your solitaire very nicely and should be low enough to fit under the stone.

elepri -

that''s definitely the direction I was leaning, but then I got myself all wrapped up in trying to decide if a prong set or channel set would look better, what size, etc. So I decided to give up and ask here, where someone surely would have wonderful ideas (like you!)

I think a small band would fit nicely under your stone. Take a look at www.signedpieces.com to get some ideas. I bought a shared prong diamond eternity band from them and its beautiful. You can't beat their prices either, fot the quality that they offer. Hope this helps.

I ordered mine from signedpieces. I decided to go with a bar setting because it seemed to complement my half-bezel setting nicely. I like the shared prong too. I didn''t like the chanel set as much because it shows more metal and it''s easier to see that the two rings don''t really match (if that makes sense). As for the size, i''d stay on the small side if you''re planning to wear them together. It looked a little weird when the diamonds in the band were wider than the band of the e-ring. If you can, go try different width bands and see what you like best.

For your particular ring, I would go with an eternity band. I love channel-sets, have one myself, but I would worry that would be too much metal-on-metal ( make sense?). With a shared-prong eternity band, it would add some bling to it, while not taking away from the beauty of the stone itself, and would not be scratching or rubbing against your e-ring.

Do you have a shot of your ring from the other angle? (camera facing the table?)

I'm not sure what you mean... a side shot looking along the shank, or ... ? 'camera facing the table' means to me what the second shot shows.

It's Friday. I'm slow.. I apologize..

I meant looking down at it, so that we can see how it looks from that angle.......(look down at it like when it''s on your hand)......... I guess I consider what you show as a side view......

You can get a Stuller heavy platinum comfort fit band, 3mm wide. Should fit just right

Sorry.........I''m the one losing it!!!!! The second picture was so far over , it was not showing up on my page!!!!!! WOW......Now I see it!!!

The shank is 2.5mm wide and round ...
This means the eternity band can be about 2mm thick and that would keep it thin too (unless you go for multiple rows of diamonds on the band).

Most sellers do not mention the thickness of the band (just the width) - so that is one thing to ask about. Some of the bands at Signedpieces are about 2mm thick (the thinner ones) - so those would work allright. Actually, the 1-1.2 TCW eternity bands would fit ( I looked for channel set princess and shared prong rounds). Larger stones than that make the bands too thick.

What about something like this? I don''t know what the measurements are, but the bezel set stones might compliment your e-ring nicely.

Is your e-ring comfortable? I love the setting & the stone is gorgeous!

Or maybe something like Lora''s band below, shown in this thread? It would match the bezel setting of your ring...or is that too much bezel-ing for you??

I think it would match fabulously!

I was thinking the same thing FireGoddess! My ring is 3mm wide and 2mm thick. I''ll bet something like that would look perfect.

Is this a etienne peirre? OR something like that/

It's not Etienne Perret (sp?) for Lora's set. In her thread, she states that it was purchased online here. I linked to a ring that is set similar to hers.

No I am sorry, I meant to refer that question to rfath...

In that case, it sure is! Her original link.

i may be the voice of dissension in that i think Lora''s band would be too much bezel when set against the ring, and also take away from some of the awesome styling of the e-ring on it''s own.

i''d do a thin eternity ring that would sit flush, or a simple band to match exactly the metal (brushed or shiny..looks brushed?), the roundness of the band etc. a true set.

I know this is a diamond forum...but what about a tradtional half round wedding band? I think that would look really simple and classic.

Very true. How about one of Etienne''s bands? Would they match the solitaire exactly?
