Wedding band advice

Hi all, hope everyone has been enjoying the holiday season!

My FH proposed last February with a gorgeous 2ct MRB in platinum in the "Lynne Soli" setting by CVB. Our nuptials will take place this upcoming July and I am beginning my research into potential wedding bands! I think I found something I love, but I'm not sure of the practicality... The fine jewelry world is completely unfamiliar to me so I truly appreciate any guidance.

My ER is a low set, cathedral style setting with a split shank and has a "doughnut" at the base (not sure of the technical term ), therefore nothing will sit flush against it (aside from a curved/contour band which I know I don't like). The gap doesn't bother me at all, but my greatest concern is any potential friction between the band/prongs and my ER setting. I attached photos of my ER setting, and the wedding band that I love; it's the alternating marquise/round cluster band (it's pictured here in YG but I'd want it in WG/Platinum).

Any advice, suggestions, or alternatives would be appreciated. Also happily accepting any recommendations for someone who does make this or can make this for me. I know that a few of the larger retailers make similar rings, but I really like the spacing/layout of the stones of this particular one more than any others I've seen for sale.

Thank you so much in advance!

Beautiful band, just put a spacer between it and the ering.

A thin tri wire band would look fantastic between your Lynne and the diamond band style you’ve chosen.

Or would that make your diamond wedding band look like an anniversary band?
Then just go plain spacer - lol!

That's a great idea! I actually really love the idea of matching the spacer band to my ER band. I did a quick search and it looks like David Klass can make that! Thank you for the suggestion.

Is having a bezeled version of the alternating band an option?

Ooooh, I never thought about that, another great idea. That would definitely eliminate the friction issue. I wonder what that would look like with the cluster/staggered stones.. I can't find anything similar in my google searches lol!

Does this look like the one from your inspo pic?

And here's another one that looks close:

Yes both of these do resemble the band I picked out! I actually reached out to David Klass and he can make it for me in platinum. He doesn’t think a spacer band is necessary, especially if I opt for platinum. Would there be a discernible difference between the band and my engagement ring if my center stone is E and the cluster stones are G? I didn’t think so but I figured I’d ask just to be safe.

I’m torn between a half-eternity vs eternity. Other than the obvious price difference, can anyone weigh in on pros and cons of each? Fit? Comfort? Etc

Melee stones will appear brighter due to their smaller facets, so I don't think there will be an issue with your center stone.

If you think your ring size will fluctuate in the future, I'd get a half or 3/4 eternity. The con is that it will likely spin. I've always opted for full eternity to avoid the spinning issue, but my ring size has also remained the same throughout the years.
