After I ordered my band I started to have these serious doubts--I THOUGHT I ordered a prong set half eternity with 7 point RB stones and a couple of days after placing the order I started to think that the stones were too big for my e-ring and thought I should have gone with the 3/4 or full. I just figured that when the ring came in, if I didn''t like it, I''d have them change it a little.
So when it arrived today I didn''t expect to love it, but I do!!! As it turns out, the stones are 6 pointers (my mistake) and I think they are a good size. Also, I''ve been wearing the ring for about an hour and I can tell that if I''d gone with a 3/4 or full, it would be a little uncomfortable. I still have several days to decide if I want to change anything, but I think I''ll keep it as is!!

I''m just so relieved that it''s in and I love it!

congrats and it sounds perfect!! any chance of a pic?

just curious, why do you think all the way around is uncomfortable (i hadn''t thought of that).

and what kind of setting did you get?

woo hoo..you must be so happy!

ps yes i live in nyc..maybe we''ll cross paths! hehe

I just went and picked it up on my lunch break (I''m at work), so I plan to take pics and post them as soon as I get home. I need some honest opinions as to how it looks together.

When I tried on the full eternity bands (with 7 point stones), I noticed that the diamonds and/or prongs dug into the inside of my other fingers--my pinky and middle fingers--especially when I picked things up. The jeweller thought I was a weirdo, but I literally put on the band and picked up my laptop bag to see how it felt and it hurt a little. I ordered teh half eternity for that reason and I can still barely feel a little bit of scraping when I type or pick something up. It''s much better than the full eternity and I assume I''ll get used to it after a few days, but I definitely notice it.

A good friend of mine has a pave setting with 3 point stones that is a full eternity and she said that they are small enough to where she doesn''t feel them at all.

The setting is just a typical prong setting. The stones are too small to do a u-shaped setting (so pretty). Also, the jeweller set the band really low because my e-ring is in a basket setting with a low profile. I''m pleased with how it turned out. Now we need to order the plain platinum bands!

I agree with NewEnglandLady. When I tried on a shared prong full eternity at the store, the ones with bigger stones (5 or 6 pointers) were really scratchy and uncomfortable. But the smaller ones, 3 pointers, were much better. I like the look of full etrernity, so I think I will get the smaller one with 3 pointers.

Grr, I just got home from work and all the natural light is gone! I took 2 pics with my digital camera and it died! I''ll have to get some in the sunlight tomorrow.

looking forward to the pics tomorrow
