What's the difference between the quality of Tiffany wedding band diamonds and diamonds in other shops?
I know that with their engagement rings they are only ever usually 'excellent' rated cut, symmetry and polish. And high colour/clarity grades. But that is with diamonds that are big enough to be certified.
What happens with small diamonds in wedding bands? I have been able to guage that at most shops (including Tiffany's) the diamonds in wedding bands tend to be G colour, VS quality. I can see that their designs are nicer but other than that even though I have a Tiffany engagement ring I am not totally convinced that they are worth paying $2,000 - $3,000 more for a ring from there if it's only the setting I am paying more for rather than the quality of the diamonds.
My issue is I have a small diamond (.30 ct) so I want to bring up the bling factor in my wedding band but at the same time I want quality because my Tiffany diamond is D colour VS2 so I don't want the wedding band diamonds to be noticeably less sparkly.
