Wedding Band for Erika Winter’s Margot Setting?

I need help finding a wedding band to go with my new OMC solitaire upgrade! I’ve decided to go with ann Erika Winters Margot-inspired setting for my ER like many PS’rs suggested, but I don’t love her wedding band options.

My stone is a Q-R 4.45 ct. OMC and is being touched up at the cutters to make it more square and proportional/will be approximately 4.30 once that’s done. Since it’s got a bit of color, I’m going with unplated WG. I love pave/small stones in my WB but don’t want them to contrast and make the center stone look more yellow if that makes sense?

Any ideas are much appreciated! I’m so excited! Picture of my stone attached, just resting in an unplated WG setting Alex Park had on hand so I could confirm that’s the metal I wanted.

There are so many great options you can do with a solitaire like that, do you want something with diamonds, no diamonds, engraving?

I like a lot of the stackable options that Gabriel and Co. have on their site and they are pretty reasonably priced. But if you are specifically looking for something in unplated white gold they won't have that but the styles could give you some ideas about something you'd maybe want to custom make.

I adore unplated white btw, it is what the ring in my avatar pic is and it's awesome!

Will EW do something custom design instead of stock design for the WB for you?
Since you don’t want the whiter melee to contrast - (if they can’t source lower color melee) how about playing with both polished areas and satin finish areas on the WB design instead of melee?

Thank you! I will definitely look at what they have at Gabriel and Co!! I thinking I might just get a plain, “matching” band for now. I have a number of half and full eternity bands along with some left over pave diamonds I could maybe remake into unplated diamond band pieces in the future? I’m so glad you love the look! I tend to be draw to 10k gold and my 14k plated pieces that have faded!

That’s a neat idea! I like it! I was also drawn to the filigree she uses, so was thinking maybe incorporating that too instead of more stones!

Happy belated anniversary! I’m sooo happy you stuck it out to find your dream stone, she will be so worth the wait!

I ADORE the Margot!!! Great choice!!! I would have the band custom made along with the setting. Something very simple, to keep the center stone the main focus. If you have pave on either the setting or the band would request Q/R or very close too, your center stone. It will compliment the center stone beautifully

Personally if it were me, I would have same color pave, thin band, same size as the pave on the shoulders of the ring, channel set so not to damage the prongs on your ring.

Here are the bands I wear most with my Margot, your stone is a little bigger than mine and a different shape but maybe helpful.

1.5mm plain rounded band from eweddingbands - this is my staple!



Ewb and EW Lily - this works nicely when it’s cold and I need a thicker stack to keep everything on tight -


Low-colour single cut melee from Leon Mege. The single cuts help but there’s still some Bright White Dot visual differential. A note - melee this size don’t come in specific colours, it’s all just parcels - so one vendor might call it low-colour, another J/K, a third J/K/L, a fourth O/P. All the same stuff.



1.6mm plain rounded RG band from Silver Floret on Etsy - highly recommend them for plain bands! Their tolerances are lower than any other vendor I’ve bought from, when they say 1.6mm they mean 1.6mm not “within 10% of 1.6mm”


Cartier XS. This is probs my second most frequent pairing

Oh my goodness, I missed your comment until just now - thank you!!! All the pics and advice are SO helpful!!! I love your ring and the bands you wear with it. I think I’m going to go with a plain matching band for now (no pave, just unplated wg with filligree). But I will definitely want to try other ideas too! I love the idea of matching size, lower color stones in a channel set!!!
