Ok folks... it seems that what wass supposed to be my "promise ring" type of ring will end up being an engagement ring. We went looking at houses this past weekend and started thinking about getting married to help our chances at being approved (he has the good credit and I have the good income). After tossing that idea around, we thought "What the heck! Let's just married even if it won't help!". Sooooo... pending some other decisions, it seems we might be getting married in about 3 weeks!

Why am I saying all of this? I think I used up all of my creativity in designing the first ring and need help thinking of ideas for a band to go with it. I have an idea or two, but I'd like to hear what you all can think of. I'm attaching two pictures that I've found. I'm thinking of going with sapphires (blue this time) and diamonds, but not totally sure, yet.

So... barage me with ideas and opinions!!

I saw this one when I was on vacation in Arizona. I like the simplicity of it. I included pics of the bracelet and earring to show a better view of the setting (earring) and the proportion I like (bracelet).

Those are lovely. However, with your beautiful engagement ring, I think you should consider a plain band. Putting other colored stones next to those carefully arranged blues might change the look too much, and diamonds might make the white sapphire look dull by comparison. (Unless you're planning to wear the Blue Volcano on your right hand.)

Your ring is such a charmer! How about a channel-set band to match the style of the ring? It could have diamonds slightly smaller than the aquas in the ring, so that the diamonds do not attract direct competition with the ring. Not to mention that the band could add yet one more shade of blue: such as what light-harted Ceylon sapphires have. Just a thought...

Haunani,

Your sapphire ring is soo beautiful. I have to agree with glitterata. I think a plain band would look the best (my opinion). However, the first ring that you posted is also quite beautiful. If you really like that design, then I would probably go with using white sapphires instead of diamonds just to tie the two ring together. Either way, it is going to beautiful. Congradulations!!!!!!!!
