Hi!
It has been a while since I last posted but have been checking out the forum every so often.

I am seeking some advice on what type of wedding band to purchase for my tycoon e-ring (see link below for pictures). Any suggestions and/or pictures would be really appreciated.

https://www.pricescope.com/community/threads/my-tycoon-e-ring.13890/

I was thinking about an eternity band with tiny tycoon diamonds but some jewellers suggested no band (wear on other hand) or just a plain white gold band - they state it is difficult to get a band to compliment the ring due to the rectangular shape or the diamond.

I would love to have a band that compliements by beautiful ring..but..I would also like to have diamonds in my band - please help?!

No diamonds???!!!

I see baguettes set horizontally

Yep, I was thinking the same thing as mmm. Understated, but pretty, and a nice complementary cut.

Love your e-ring by the way!

Hi Nets,

I have to agree with the others on this! The baguettes shouldn't take away from the Tycoon (lovely stone and ring by the way

). Set horizontally would be really pretty.

What a beautiful ring! I have a princess cut on a simple tiffany style band and also wanted a little something sparkly on the wedding band. A plain band just seemed too vanilla for me since my setting was so simple.

I will try to get my dh to post some pics this evening. I settled on a thin 2mm band that has beadset round diamonds with milgrain edging. The band has a low profile and peaks out from under the princess stone. While the workmanship is not the greatest, I am happy with the overall look. It does complement the solitaire, in my opinion.

I'll try to post pictures if possible may take some time)so you can see for yourself the difference even a small row of tiny diamonds can make in the overall look.

I think baguettes would be incredible with your gorgeous stone!

Thanks for your suggestions and your compliments (it's amazing how it always feels nice when others compliment your ring)! I haven't thought about the stones being set horizontal, hmmm, something to think about.

I was thinking vertical - they would just have to be tiny rectangle tycoon diamonds as I think the band should be the same thickness as the e-ring (?).

It's difficult to decide when I am unable to find something similar to actually try on.

Bookworm, I would love to see some pics if you get around to posting them.

are you thinking of something like this but tiny-size?

Reena - great picture, that's exactly what I was thinking of! Do you think it would compliment the e-ring, or is it too many diamonds (as if there is such a thing)?

Based on the above suggestions, I keep looking at my ring and am also trying to picture how it would look with the stones set horizontally, but somehow I see it "matching" more with the stones set vertically in the band.

Great pic!

the problem with wearing a wedding band next to your beautiful engagement ring is that it will not sit flush against your ring. when you get a chance, stop by a local jeweler and try on any diamond wedding band and you'll see what i mean. because of the huge gap between the rings, i think it's better that you wear it on the other hand.

glad you liked it! i think there are some similar bands on signedpieces.com.

i think the band is gorgeous and would absolutely complement your ring, except that i do sort of agree with the previous poster in wondering whether there wouldn't be a huge gap in between the two due to the shape of your stone. if the gap doesn't bother you at all, then go for it! otherwise, a right hand wedding band isn't a bad idea--i will likely have to do the same, and while i wasn't thrilled about the idea at first, i realized that it's a great opportunity to get a fun w-band that's more detailed (and more bling-y) than i might otherwise have been able to get (due to contraints with it matching/fitting next to my e-ring).

good luck!

Argh... Reena's done it again, that is one of my ULTIMATE top 10 pieces of Leon's. I drool over it very often. I love that band. I covet that band. Can't wait for my visit to signed pieces in November so that I can at least get *A* band that's as nice as Noobies new one.

[is it november yet?] [no? ] [okay, how bout now?]

How about something like one of these...(stolen from signedpieces.com website

I've been trying to attach pictures but it says it has a problem..contact systems administrator...whatever that means! :-) Will try again later.

The plain band I have is 3mm which seems a bit wide for the e-ring. I'm with you, Net, in that I would like the bands to visually appear the same size. In my case, the tiffany ring is 2.5 at the top tapering to 2mm on the sides. So, would you all recommend going with a 2 or 2.5 mm band?

Sorry, Net. Will keep trying later today.

Bookworm, I think it all comes down to preference on how they look with your e-ring in terms of the 2 or 2.5 mm band, the best thing would be to try some on with those sizes. I am trying to picture your ring... I think the 2.5 would look very nice.

I think you hit the nail on the head – the reason the bands I have been trying don’t seem to compliment the ring is because they do not sit flush with the e-ring. The gap does bother me, so I will have to get a right hand ring (more blingy – of course) or try to search for something that will sit flush – I think this is my preference.

I got the e-ring custom made, so perhaps I will visit the jeweller and see what he can do.

By the way, I too am having trouble uploading pictures...hmm.

that's the sprit nets! fun right hand bling is not to be underestimated. i've got a thread going on RT about the new trend of stacking several wedding bands together if you're interested!
