Wedding eye candy...I have some now!!

LOL...So I promised myself that I would not buy a single piece of wedding **** until we were offically engaged.....

WEEELLL I have a considerable supply of it now...and no I didn't buy anything!!

FF and I have had another couple living with us while they were looking for a house...they found a house and move out on Wed of this week (finally the house to ourselves

) Anyway...they're engaged and their wedding is 07/09...She pretty much has everything planned out and all important things booked...venue, music, flowers, attire...really everything is accounted for...So saturday night I was helping her go through some of her things in the livingroom (FF was watching football next to us)...when she came across a HUGE box of wedding ****...No joke! HUGE! So she says "ams, I don't really need this anymore...you can have it, it was really helpful"....I look up at FF and he just starts laughing...I graciously accept her gift of course!

So...Now ontop of PS, BridalCanvas, Brides.com, TheKnot, etc, that keep me busy during my lunch hour at work (and sometimes more then that)...I now get to come home to my very own box of wedding ****!!!

lucky!! E mentioned that i should get bridal mags as a secret santa gift (to ask for, i mean). I think that is fair game for bringing them in the house.. even if santa didnt bring them!!!

Can I just say how much I love the term "wedding ****"?!?!?!

Lucky you, ams! I also refuse to buy a wedding mag before I''m engaged, but while BF and I were waiting for him to get his hair cut, I picked up a wedding mag and actually looked through it with me! it feels less naughty when he''s looking at the **** too!

lol... i haven''t purchased any either, though lately i almost can''t resist looking through the bridal mags in target!!!

(i''ve often wondered how awkward it would be if someone i knew happened to walk up at just one of those instants...)

I have a few magazines here and there that I have bought because I liked the ideas, but I''ve stopped buying the magazines until there are obvious signs or conversations that suggest FF is ready to begin purchasing. It''s more of a courtesy to him because he seems a bit stressed about even the thought of trying to have a wedding when the economy is so poor and his job situation is uncertain. I don''t want to upset him when he''s trying so hard to make ends meet and keep his job. Even though I LOVE looking at them, I''m sticking to just browsing at the checkout lanes when I shop for groceries.

 

[Guilty Pleasure]

I am in favor of buying them BEFORE you get engaged (and hiding them so you don''t raise any eyebrows) because once you get engaged, all you can think about it is how much money you are spending on this or that. At least for me, it has made me really cut back on frivolous things. For instance, I haven''t gotten a pedicure in months and I refrain from buying books or magazines at the checkout because everytime I want to spend money, I think, "I could pay for my sister''s hair on the wedding day instead of getting my toes done" or "If I buy just one or two magazines a month, then that would be the same amount of money as a makeup artist." It''s odd since I have plenty of money saved for the wedding, but I am just so suddenly aware of all the little expenses in life.

So hey, buy it now while it''s your only "wedding expense"

I buy InStyle bridal magazines and I don''t hide them. I don''t really care. He knows it. My mother knows it. My friends know. If we are going to get married, why not?
