Okay, so this is a HORRIBLE picture, and it doesn''t do it justice, but for the life of me, I have yet to find a decent picture, and haven''t figured out how to download pictures onto FI''s mac. So anyway, I haven''t even gotten my dress yet, or ANYTHING like that, but when I saw this necklace, I just fell in love. This is by Michael Michaud, who has a set of jewelry called "Silver Seasons" which are all sorts of flowers and plants (even edamame!), in pendants, necklaces, earrings, bracelets and stuff like that- all hand patinaed, and with various gemstones and pearls. The one I got is the acorn pendant, it is 14k yellow gold (one of our wedding colors) with hand painted oak leaves, and a glossy citrine acorn inside. It''s a 16inch chain and it''s stunning. The acorn is the size of a pearl, and falls just below my clavicle. It''s small enough that in the wedding shots, you won''t be able to tell what it is, but when you''re up close, you can definitely see it.

Our wedding is going to be autumn based, and I just thought this was perfect. I''m still not sure about the earrings, I think I may get something different. I was planning on getting an ivory and gold dress, so I think this should go just fine. Also, the acorn is a symbol of a new life- which my fiance mentioned, "Like the life we''re beginning". Just wanted to share!

oh, it's perfect!!

eta: download to FI's mac? where are the pics residing? if they are online you can just drag and drop them to your desktop. if they are online and are download protected, you can hit shift/command/4 and holding your mouse button, drag the crosshairs over the image to copy. when you release the mouse button, the pic is copied to your desktop.

Thanks, Jcrow! It''s so tough for my overworked brain, going from the PC at work to the mac at home! And this is his first mac, too, so he has no idea.

i have issues with pc. i have mac at home and been a mac girl for over 5 years. i get a new job and gessh, they have me on a pc! so, i can understand!

Beautiful Amber, just lovely! Perfect for a fall wedding. You can wear this jewelry for other occassions too.

Kcoursolle, I was SO wanting to wear it home, and like, everyday since, but then I realized I''d be out of luck if I lost part of it. It''s funny, there was another set called "Honeysuckle" that was just stunning, but when I put this on, I felt like this was my jewelry! My dad was with me when I got it (you know how I hang out with my dad), and was just like, "I am SO glad you''re getting that." He just loved it. We got it in Santa Monica, on Main Street- if you haven''t been, you should go.

This is so sweet...I think it is perfect for your wedding...especially with the autumn theme..I am so glad you are so pleased with it also...your FI sounds very romantic too ;}

It''s sooo pretty, and I LOVE the significance of it. I''ll have to make a trip to that store- I would dig an edamame piece!

How are you ever going to wait until next year to wear it??

Amber, it's perfect! I love it! Now get to dress shopping, you hear?
9.gif
I've been shopping for 3 months already and am stumped as to which dress to choose.

Thanks everyone! I am so excited about the necklace!! This guy has some incredible pieces out there, if you''re interested The pussy willow is gorgeous, as well! Yeah, it''s totally hard to not wear it now, I think I may have the fiance hide it, but what if I need to match it to earrings or a bracelet? I also have an amber heart pendant Paul got me for Christmas when we first met in 1997 (a full decade before the marriage, almost to the day- minus 3), and I would have worn that, since it''s golden colored, but the dog grabbed it a year ago and it''s apt to fall off, but I want to include it somehow, how can I do that?

Tie it to your bouquet!

Ebree, I thought about that, and I think it would be great! Should I string it on a satin ribbon and wind it around? Hmmm Maybe I should finally go dress shopping!

I''d absolutely recommend starting the dress search. Have any gowns caught your eye recently?

I LOVE this dress:

These are the ones I liked a lot, but this one: I LOVE. I wanted this the second I saw it:

It''s my dream dress, as with the first maggie, it has my dream butterfly bustle back. I want a dress with the back like that, but have yet to find others like this.

Oooh, great choices! The back of that Piccone is amazing! It reminds me a lot of this Kenneth Pool (that probably costs $10,000

Kenneth Pool

Looks like Piccone Bridal has a store in Los Angeles.

Dress shopping is a lot of fun, and if you have an indecisive like streak like me, start early. Also, don't be afraid to try something on unless you totally hate it...my Amy Kuschel (still in the running) was suggested to me by my consultant! I would never have seen it.

Ebree, isn''t the back STUNNING? I fell in love with it and did a search with "butterfly bustle" and the maggies popped up. There is a Piccione in Bev Hills, and a Maggie place nearby, but recently I''ve been taking some medication for a sinus infection, and I''m going to plump up. SO I''m hesitant to try things on- don''t want to get a bigger size than what I''m supposed to!

Also, no one in the family, or friends are around to go with me- I''m a loser with my only three friends on our guest list. Depressing!!

Hey Amber, those dresses are amazing! I especially like the third one with the lave v-neck and the last one, they were to die for! Let me know if you want to go shopping sometime, things aren''t too crazy for me until october. Maybe we could round up a few LA pricescopers.

Ooh, me too! Finals week is this week, but after, I''m free!

Yay!! Dress shopping!! I''d love to go- everything is cool as a cucumber here (well, not at work, but whatever).. I have all the weekends free! Unless Paul has something doin'' that I don''t know!

Oh Amber that necklace is so perfect for your wedding!!!!

And I adore that Piccione dress!!! Go dress shopping with PS-ers and make sure someone has a camera and knows how to upload photos!

Albi: Seriously, I''ll be married with kids by the time I figure out the mac.

Amber, I LOOOOVE that necklace!!! It makes me wish I was gettng married in the fall, just so I could wear it! I did, of course get on the net and find more examples of his work, but I like that acorn series the best! Congrats!

Love that....and the meaning behind it as well!

Thanks you guys! I loved his work, Fata: I found his Honeysuckle pieces which were stunning, and I fell.

FG, I love the symbolism, too! I''m finding great fall surrounded ideas, and I think this acorn is a great stepping stone!
