Wedding ring concern

Hello everyone,

Seeking advice regarding this e-ring and wedding ring combo. I ordered a plain platinum band to go with my e-ring. It’s a comfort fit and is wondering if the height of the ring will affect or damage the side of my diamond? It seems OK but my e-ring seems to shift more freely than the wedding band and it’s the same size. I’m anticipating the problem when my e-ring shifts forward or backward. From your experiences will this be OK or is this something I should be concerned of? I attached a few photos below for references. Thanks in advance!!

I love that e-ring - classic and elegant! :)

Is the wedding ring touching the stone if/when you try to make it touch the stone?

If it's not touching, or only if you really try to force it into an unusual position, you might well be fine, but you could also consider a spacer ring - although whether that will just have the same potential issue, I don't know... :???:

Another option would be to have the rings welded together - that way they will never move :)

What @OoohShiny said. You could get a really super skinny band with a very low profile to sit inbetween?

And I absolutely LOVE these rings! Classic!

You are wise to be concerned.

It appears to me the most potentially damaging ring movement would not be as you wrote, "when my e-ring shifts forward or backward".
Rather it would be when the diamond, being the highest thing on the hand, gets pushed down from accidentally banging your hand (the ring) against a wall or furniture.
Because the design (beautiful BTW) of the diamond ring it exposes rather than protects the pavilion, it looks like banging your hand may force the diamond's pavilion against the band, perhaps with great force. :eek2:

You can test for this.
View the rings as in the above pic.
Push down gently on the top of the diamond while moving them both around to see whether you can get the pavilion to touch the band.

The design of both rings is fine, but if there's any way the pavilion can touch the band, they should not be worn together.
Personally, I'd just not wear them together.
If that's not an option, I'd have the diamond moved to a setting that is more protective of the bottom of the diamond.
Or, as mentioned, have them solder or welded together.
If that's not an option, if you like the idea of insurance, insure them and fergetaboutit.

Thanks for the advice. It could potentially touch the pavillion. I have decided to return the wedding band and will try something with a lower height. The ring is insured but I’m sentimental and would be devastated if I damaged it. I’m in healthcare and is very active so damaging the diamond is a huge possibility. Thanks again everyone.

yeah, it's truly better to try something with a lower height because it will almost always be very wearable...

Oh, gorgeous! And probably more comfortable, too!

I found a lower height platinum band and another ring with some bling :lol:053BDA29-CDE4-40CC-9FFB-F4D398CF43BA.jpeg69735BD7-60D8-4699-8D69-11B895119DFE.jpeg96103899-01F6-4BD4-8597-5641A9B6371F.jpeg

Now that's a Pricescope solution :D lol
