wedding website address

Ok, this is random

are there any websites OR is there a way to make a website address shorter. I''m currently using the knot. But it seems to long after you add on everything.

example: www.theknot.wedding/xy.........zetc.com

I kinda wanted something with just our names and then call it a day.

thoughts...or am I just outta luck

Actually, several of the wedding websites out there will let you choose your own domain name. We are using www.weddingwindow.com, which is one of the pricier ones (I think it was $79/year)...and paid an additional $15 to make our domain name our own names. I LOOOOOVVVEEE weddingwindow... it has been great.

I've also heard great things about www.weddingwindow.com. But, if want to stick to free websites (like me), www.weddingannouncer.com is a good option. It's the most customizable of the free ones I've found and the addresses are more of the form http://ournames.weddingannouncer.com. (Longer than with weddingwindow, but still better than the Knot.)

BB, I hear you about the lengthy URL you get from the knot!

I got around it by suggesting that guests visit the website and find our webpage by using the search tool on the main page. The majority of my guests are computer-savvy and had no problem finding it that way, and it''s MUCH easier than typing in the looooong URL.

I''ll throw in a vote for weddingannouncer.com also. It''s very easy to use, has a variety of designs, and is fairly flexible.

We used the wedding channel webdesign.

our webaddress is: brideandgroom.weddings.com

Not too terribly long. The only issue is you have to type it without www. in the beginning. To be clear on our save-the-date we wrote is out as: http://brideandgroom.weddings.com

Ooooh I''m so glad you checked it out... aren''t the templates amazing?? People are amazed by our website and keep asking if we had it professionally done... it is just so much fun playing with all the options!!

Hi BB... to delete sections you''re not using (like "Dedications" "Photo Printing" "Seating Chart", etc)... just click on the white tab called "Manage Pages" near the top of the main page. Then go down and change anything to "Inactive" that you don''t want to show up. I think that''s what you''re asking... let me know if I misinterpreted!
