Hello,

When I was about 13 or so, my god mother gave me a gift that came in a little blue box!!The whole time she was holding it, my grandmother was going crazy "She''s holding a Tiffany box" I had no clue about Tiffany so it didn''t mean as much to me then as it does now. Since then... I love Tiffany. I cant afford to walk in the store and come out with a bag so I thought ebay would be a great alternative to buying designer without paying the high premium. but.... I have come across many sites that sell replicas. I thought they couldn''t do that. Its my understanding that you can make designer inspired.

for example

Louis Vuitton: having paw prints or different initials instead of the LV''s on a wallet or handbag.

I have seen many sites that sell replicas with the LV logo. Why have these sites not been shut down.

My point is.. I have also seen many Tiffany replicas. You can even order the little gift boxes that say Tiffany and CO. How can I weed out the replicas because I''m sure many are just that.

Look for sellers with 100% positive feedback and read the feedback to be sure there aren''t withdrawn ones. Look at what else they have been selling to see if it looks authentic as well. I think plenty of authentic Tiffany sells on ebay, but you have to be careful. Another good source for second hand Tiffany is Signed Pieces.

What are signed pieces? I always wondered since I have been on PS.

It''s a company that specialises in selling overstock or secondary source original pieces from big names such as Tiffany, Cartier, Van Cleef & Arpels, Chopard, de Grisogono...

If you are talking small pieces like Tiffany silver I have heard numbers that about 90% of it is fake. Anyone with multiples of the same thing, whether on ebay or a "store" unless it''s Tiffany''s, is also another tip off that it''s fake. I look for people selling one-off pieces who have great feedback. But I''m usually buying diamond/platinum stuff, which is less likely to be fake than the cheaper stuff...

This is a big problem right now in the fashion industry. You''re right designs are not considered copyrighted, but logos are, the problem is there are websites everywhere selling fakes and it''s a lot to hunt down this is also a big problem IRL just go to any street corner in NYC, these people are being shut down it''s just hard to notice because there are so many out there, and once they are busted they usually pop right back up. It''s sad design infringement just doesn''t seem to be as big of a priority as it should be.

I would check the sellers return policy and if you live near a Tiffany store bring it in and hopefully someone can tell you if it''s real and if not then return it.
