Hi everyone!

It''s been awhile for me so I thought i''d get myself started by posting. I know it''s a bit late in the week but i''ve been on vacation for the past week. Didn''t do any formal exercise but did lots of walking. I pretty much ate what I wanted and at this point, i''m feeling good about getting back on track. I haven''t been happy lately when looking at myself, so I think i''m ready to get back into a routine. I''m working out today after work and am striving for 3-4 days this week.

Hope everyone else had a good 4th!
 
Morning ladies.
I was pretty bad this weekend -- eating lots of bad food and drinking a lot. But it was all so yummy that I don''t fee so guilty about it!
I had my trainer this morning and I got a good workout.
Hope the rest of the week stays the same!
 
i have the biggest food hangover ever from days of eating!! starting friday it was all downhill. i did work out on saturday morning at class and i did A LOT of walking since then, about an average of 3 miles a day probably....but nothing could counteract the amount and types of food we were eating...hehee. we had burgers on friday, and then saturday we were in monterey and carmel so we had a bunch of fried fish and chowder kind of food...then sunday we ate at home with homemade tacos, but that gave me horrible indigestion....on monday we had in n''out on the way to napa and then a huge dinner which was divine at this new restaurant in napa...then yesterday we had lunch before leaving to come home and last nite we had a party at our house which included mega sangria consumption and desserts from napa. hehee. last nite i measured my waist and it was, get this 1.5 inches larger than it typically is in the mornings!!! how insane is that! and my lower waist was 1 inch larger...YIKES! so anyway hoping to get back on track today, i''m going to class tonite and hopefully tomorrow night to make up some time....so we''ll see how i hold out!!!

hope everyone else had a great holi-week...hehee...and is back on the wagon today!!!
 
Amanda and Mara, sounds like you both had a good time eating not so great for you things so that counts for something! I really enjoyed just not thinking about my food choices for a few days; it almost felt freeing but I am ready to get back on track. Amanda, how long have you had a trainer? I have had one a couple times through my gym and liked it a lot but couldn''t keep it up due to cost.
Mara, I don''t even want to think about bigger measurements or the scale for the next few weeks. I''m just going to keep exercising and hope that when I have the courage to check again, I will at least be back to my pre-vacation weight. :)
 
We went to Chicago this weekend, and when in Chicago one must eat! I ate healthy breakfasts, muesli, oatmeal, fruit and skipped lunch 2 of the three days we were there, and then we had big wonderful dinners to make up for it! Prime rib, mashed potatoes and creamed corn at Lawrys, Kobe strip steak and some delicious cauliflower puree at The Pump Room. I''m salivitating just thinking about it.

On a positive note we walked about 7 miles a day, and I only gained a pound...works for me!

Today I am focused on school work and have class tonight, so I won''t be exercising, but I''ll make up for it tomorrow.

I never participated in these threads before because I don''t really work out and didn''t have much to contribute... But I started my new summer job last week and we walk about 6 km every morning (8.5 km this morning!

). It''s exhausting, but we''re having gorgeous weather, so it''s really nice.

The greatest thing is that next year when I bought a few pair of pants, only size 8 would fit because of my huge thighs

, but last week-end I bought a pair for work and size 6 now fits perfectly everywhere! I probably hadn''t lost the fat only in a week, but it still feels great. Yay!

i feel totally bloated from all the stuff over the holiday and i just can't stop eating all of the sweets we have leftover in the house. so far 1/2 a choco croissant and a slice of cherry peach pie have been the casualties...hahaa. i did have an apple too though.

i'm going to my kickboxing class so i don't feel SO guilty but man! i need this stuff outta the house! done!
 
Well, I''m back, and probably it''s the first vacation ever that I didn''t gain any weight. I was eating a lot, but it was really a working vacation, so I must have burned it all off. Plus I did go for two jogs just to keep the running going, but they weren''t any long distance, probably 2-2.5 miles each time.

Hopefully the rest of this week, I''ll get some running in, then next week I get serious. I have to if I want to run the half-marathon in September!

I haven''t been posting much this week as I have been painting the outside of the house in the sweltering English heat

however it is finished now and can be considered to be a workout! We went to the track on Monday as the gym was closed and did some walking and a little running, also went to the gym yesterday but were too tired today. Hoping to go tomorrow though.

Don''t feel bad ladies if you overindulged over the holiday, you will get back on track! I know how it is you just FEEL so much larger with the guilt of partaking of these foods ( I do anyway) but it is only occasionally and you have to enjoy yourselves sometime! So good job everyone!

Well, I didn''t get my workout in last night. On the way home, I fell and hit my knee (and I was actually thinking about working out right at that moment) and then found out that my son''s class was cancelled which is at the gym where I work out. So, given that my knee hurt, it was easy to convince myself not to do a tape at home. I have told myself that I will workout tonight so i''m hoping that sticks by the evening.
My eating was ok yesterday but certainly could''ve been better. My breakfast and lunch were good but I snacked all night long. Not sure if I was just bored or what but today''s a new day. Boy, I feel like I say that a lot! Hopefully it will stick soon!

I shouldn''t be so relieved the week''s almost over since yesterday was my 1st day back at work this week but I am. Yay!!

Keep up the workouts!
 
What an excellent idea for a thread. I am trying to maintain/tone my present weight--but the holiday this week did not help matters. So today I am starting back on having special K for breakfast/lunch (Special K Fruit and Yougert of course) with blue berries and sensible dinners. I am in love with the lil 100 calorie snack bags that a lot of companies have out b/c they really are just the right amount for a snack, and I adore special K cereal bars (Vanilla and Strawberry). And I have replaced all beverages but milk and water with chrystal light flavor water. NOW if only I can add some exercise on a consistant basis. SIGH.

Maybe this thread will help my accountabillity in the area of exercise.
 
that is the problem with these holiday things, they totally throw you off the track! argh!

well i did go work out last nite and it felt really good and i sweated like a piggy so that felt positive, like i was detoxing some of the crap i''d eaten or something. then we had burritos last nite, hahaaaa...talk about undoing the work but whatever. i figured if this week is a wash then i might as well just work out like a fiend and not worry so much about the food because it''ll get back on track when it''s ready (my body i mean!)...

this morning i had my oat blueberry strawberry mix breakfast and coffee, and lunch will be some noodle soup. i''m working out tonite again, hope my body can take it, i''m kinda sore from yesterday but oh well. that''s what i get for being a chowing sow!! then i''ll work out again on sat and at least will have gotten in my 3 workouts for the week.

Holiday weeks are the worst...no exercise ambition and even less self control. I ate Carls Jr. yesterday...horrible! Once every six months or so I get a Western Bacon Cheeseburger craving and for whatever reason I couldn''t shake it for two weeks, so I finally gave in to it! I didn''t feel so bad afterwards though, which is good. No dinner last night as I have class.

Today I did 30 minutes elliptical and free weights for another 30 minutes. I''ve only had oatmeal some baked cheetos and a Zone bar to eat...not too bad.
 
Yay. I managed to motivate myself enough to do cardio pillates this morning. And I''ve already had my special K lunch.
 
worked out last nite and then had sushi and a cookie for dessert....hee hee. i''m on a roll!!

this morning i had heart to heart kashi hot oatmeal and coffee. i am also having my monthly visitor so i always feel pretty fatto and gross about now anyway, so i figure at least i did what i wanted to so far...2 workouts to make up for mon and tues...and i will see if i can go on saturday, i don''t want to overdo it and i''m pretty sore. i am going to do a 1m walk this morning and then maybe one later today depending how i feel.

thread has been slow this week, hehehe.
 
Well, I didn''t work out last night. Jet lag is still getting me down, and I''m barely getting any sleep. Hopefully I will be able to get a workout in tonight, but even if I don''t, I''m not worried. I don''t feel like I''ve gained any weight this week, and I want to be well rested when I kick it into high gear to train for the half marathon.
