Weird Dream Last Night and Conversation

So I had a dream last night that Kris fake proposed to me--like as a practical joke! It was so strange (well, the whole dream was strange...we watched Dances With Wolves the other night and there was a whole part in the dream about buffalo, so it definitely was culled from a lot of random things!). In the dream he gave me this AWFUL ring that just kept getting worse and worse.

I wonder if part of it came from the talk we had yesterday where I asked if he had any sort of timeline in mind and he (being a typical guy) first said "a million minutes". So I said "OK, so we''re talking within approximately 1 year and 11 months then? Or do you mean that it''ll be after that?

" He then promptly said that he didn''t think I''d know how long that actually was, and insisted that any questions on the topic thereafter had to be directed to him in French (which he speaks and I don''t--damn you classical Latin education!) Finally, I just asked if I got any input when it came to picking out the ring (or at least the center stone), and he said that I was taking all the romance out of it and obviously didn''t trust him to have good taste in jewelry if I had to be involved with it.

I just told him that A. I do know he has good taste, but I know a little bit more about diamonds than he does thanks to Pricescope (he doesn''t even really know what the 4 Cs stand for--last night he guessed corn, carrots, celery, and cream...although I guess he wasn''t too far off on the carrots!), B. I want to make sure he gets the best bang for his buck, and C. If I''m going to wear the damn thing, I sure as hell want to LIKE it.

It''s just frustrating. He knows I''m a planner and he enjoys seeing me unable to figure out what HIS plans are. On the plus side I know he''s going to look at the ring his grandmother offered him to propose with (her mother''s) when we''re up visiting his family in August), but on the down side, I''m still pretty much timeline-less. Well, unless you count a year and 11 months from yesterday.

Awww...LadyPirate I know how you feel. I''ll have weird dreams like that too, and just recently he had a weird dream about us getting married-which makes me feel better about it, because at least I know his subconscious is thinking about it.

I started laughing when I read the "All questions must now be directed to him in French", because if D knew another language fluently he''d probably put that on me too-and then I''d have to learn another language-and I suck at learning foreign languages!

I feel the same way. My BF won''t give me a timeline, and he won''t let me help with the ring (and is pulling the, "do you not trust my taste" card too!) He just wants it to be one big surprise.

The thing is he knows that I love surprises but that I''m awfully good at ruining them too, so he''s not even going to give me a clue as to ANYTHING!

What really sucks too is that I found a stone that I really really want for my e-ring and I don''t think he''ll end up getting it for me because he seems iffy about ordering something like that on the internet. Plus, who knows when he''ll propose-so by the time he''s ready, the stone might be gone! And who knows if we could ever find anything similar! BLAH!!! (It''s not a diamond BTW

!)

I know exactly how you feel Ladypirate! My bf is sooooo annoying when it comes to talk of timelines etc. He gets annoyed and thinks I''m taking out the roamnce by wanting to plan everything and then he starts getting sarcastic saying things like, "Have I got to tell you the exact date and time it''s going to happen?" Grrrrrrr! Men! I can only hope he''s planning some surprise soon and trying to throw me off the scent!

Ha! Unfortunately, when I mentioned something along the lines of learning French, he said he''d have to switch to a different language. I said that I could beat him at that game--I''m definitely more of a linguist than he is. Mwa ha ha ha ha.

I''m just trying to retaliate by not telling him what we''re doing for his 30th birthday in April--he knows we''re going somewhere for a few days and that we''re taking a plane, but that''s IT.

Hey Freke,

Realized I never replied--we''re taking a weekend trip up to the Oregon Coast--2 nights in Cannon Beach at a lovely little B&B and then 1 night in Portland. I''m really excited about it, even though it''s not happening until April.

April 23--he''s a stubborn Taurus.

Actually, it''s funny because it''s exactly 6 months apart from my birthday (October 23), the day after my dad''s birthday, and the day before my twin sisters'' birthday! Makes it easy to remember.

Seriously, everyone in my immediate family AND Kris are all Tauruses (Kris is actually a DOUBLE Taurus) and I''m a Libra with my moon in Taurus. Not that I really buy into that stuff, but stubborn does tend to run in the family.
